Like others, I've visited this site often but recently became a member. Had my 1199 for almost a year now, my 4th bike. My first bike was a CBR600RR, then a GSX-R 750, S1000RR, and finally went with the Panigale. Loving it.

Welcome to the forum:)

Glad you finally decided to join.

Congrats and welcome! Let's see her and hear your comparisons with your previous rides.

Congrats! Welcome to the forum. Get your callus on as it can get fought from time to time...lol. It's all in good fun.

Which model did you get?

The CBR600RR was solid, well handling bike. Nice starter. The GSX-R 750 was more nimble I thought. The S1000RR is great all around but no thigh warmers. LOL. The 1199 is the best looking and best sounding of them all. In tech, the BMW's traction control and ride modes worked, but I like how the 1199 is programmable. S1000RR is a more comfortable and smoother ride but the 1199 is so easy to handle. Unfortunately, the 1199 is the only bike I had issues with. Had trouble starting for a while, but after a day at service, fires up great.

Thanks for your perspectives. Search on here for hard starting, there are tons of threads on potential fixes for that. Lots and lots of great info here.

Have fun!

I think it depends on what you're looking for and what type of riding you normally do. If you're looking for amazing looks and the wow factor with a great exhaust sound, the Panigale is it. I get complements all the time. It's the exotic bike most people know of. If you're looking for a bit more comfortable bike (seat, heat, vibration) then probably the BMW. I got a lot of "the headlights look a bit weird" from people on the S1000RR. Both perform very well. Both bikes have traction control but the Panigale is more customizable in the LCD menu as far as ABS, traction, and other settings. You're going to pay more for the Panigale and service is more expensive than the BMW was.

Both are great bikes though! Definitely both noticeably better handling and braking compared to the Honda and Suzuki.
