Jeeez... I just came back from Almeria. There was a guy from Switzerland with his Pani that weights dry 348 lbs (158 kg), with ABS and electronic TTX. Wow!
Most of the CF parts including the subframe and the monocoque have been custom made.
I think I am going to replace my SL's monocoque with CF...:)

When you do that Gecko can I have your SL Mono????? :)

:)
Wait... I'll do it on the CF Tri and the SL. Honestly I have no clue which one will be lighter. Anyway: next thing I am going to buy is an electronic scale.

Quit holding out on us. Who did the subframe and monocoque? Was it
CMS (Carbon Framework - CMS).

I want to get something like this done for my HP4, as I am trying to get that fat girl down to 380lbs.

Nope, it was not CMS. It was some guy who placed himself into the pro customers circle (F1 parts manufacturer): you'll get the parts with all the mechanical measured load diagrams included..... even the rake aluminium parts within the monocoque are custom made.

I'll meet the guy on saturday and keep you posted.

Any updates, boss? Trying to figure out what to do with this HP4.... This thing needs to go on a SERIOUS diet.

That being said, anyone have any experience PVM spoke magnesium wheels?

Trying to decide between these or the BST for my HP4. The PVMs are the same color blue as stock HP4 wheels...

hmmm, yes and no. I met the guy, and he tried to conceil important information. On the other hand he showed some pics of a race prepper SL with.....

149kg dry weight (that's about 329 lbs)!!

What I found is that his self-designed CF monocoque was by manfactured by Carbon Sigl,

Lol, which is why I linked it in the first response to this thread....... =). They make a matching tank and rear monocoque as well.

So gecko let me know when to buy your sl monocoque and rear subframe ;)

That carbon monocoque is awesome. I might be interested in something like that at some point.

Gecko do you know what the weight saving is over OEM ? I guess you could run it on the street too.

Their website says the carbon one is 1.25kg and the factory piece is 4.6kg.

I'm sure if you dug around you could find the weight on the Magnesium piece that the SL has which is probably in between the two. I would be curious as to the flex characteristics. My guess is the magnesium one on the SL flexes slightly more than the stock piece, the carbon piece could go either way depending upon how it was designed.

According to MCN Video, the 1199SL Magnesium frame is 3kg
