Took the bike to Jennings the 28th and 29th and had a blast! Saturday it was great weather in the morning then went south in the afternoon, Sunday was wet in the morning then perfect the rest of the day...up until I tucked the front on the 4th lap through 13 during the 2nd session after lunch. Oh well, all in all it was still a good day and most of the damage was cosmetic. Worst of it is a broken clip on and dented tank. Just grateful I put on the Evotech clutch cover before I hit the track, I don't thing the DP clutch cover would have been up to the task. Right clip on was the only thing that kept me from getting it back on for the next session! I'll be sending off my suit to get repaired then back on the track when the bike is back together.

The issue is if you crash and damage the headlight, I bet that piece alone cost more than race bodywork.

Too bad about the lowside

I'm going to Jennings myself in a few weeks time so looking forward to it.

How was the track? Heading there March 8-10 for 3 straight track days.

Hope you are ok.

Recommend race bodywork but it's a pain to go from stock to race so not sure if anyone would do that much.

Before she went down I'd already decided I didn't like riding on the street much anymore and was going to convert my Pani into a track bike. So I'll be selling the "non-trashed" stock parts but now I have less of them to sell. As for the fairing upgrade kit, I would've picked them up already but I only had a couple days to get the bike ready before the weekend. I installed all the protection bits before the weekend and they already paid for themselves.

Jennings is a good time I just wish they'd get rid of the "meatball" signs that mark the apex of all the corners. That and it's tough on tires, especially the left. I walked away without a scratch, bump or bruise. Needless to say my wife was a little freaked out when she saw the red flags come out and started counting red bikes. One good thing, she now has no problem with how much I spent on gear after giving me a hard time before!

Jennings is a great track... the only motorcycle only track in the united states... its grippy as ..... the down side is it eats tires...
turn- as stated before for your trip before mine.. lol right before... you most likely will need 2 sets of tires when your down there..

Bummer on the lowside! Glad to hear you're okay though. What sort of times do you run out there?

Jennings is a great track. Be careful especially in T8. It's a decreasing radius left hander that eats bikes. I highsided there in 2006 and landed in 2007.:(

Take extra tires. I'd burn up a rear slick after a single day.

It doesn't look to bad. Glad your ok. I agree with Ljuice. Order some track bodywork.

Glad to see your okay, sorry about the heartache of having downed your baby. Hope your on the track again soon.

Tank cover!

Mine's not pretty but that thick layer of kevlar on the side might have saved your tank...

Bike looks sad! I have never been on a track think I best not chance wrecking my dream machine! Excellent news that you are intact!

I would argue the complete opposite. It's best to take a bike that was designed for the track and let it run.

You can admire it and use it around town all you want but until it is put in its element you will never experience just how great it can be.

Like having a stunt plane and only fly it like a Cessna.

Then of course you have all the other benefits of track riding, like controlled environment, safety crew/medics, instruction, etc.

Every sport bike rider should experience the track. Your life will never be the same afterwards. Universal response after some track time "I should have done this years ago!" .

One good thing about Jennings is it is an instructional track. The control riders are there to give instruction, there are times they will just get behind you and coach you after you come in. Or you can ask them and they will lead you for a few laps. There was a kid out there this weekend, maybe 14 on a baby CBR. He did a lead follow with the instructor and was passing guys on his little thumper. Only problem he had was running out of bike on the straights.

My little man didn't think the bike was in that bad a shape!
