Well, I was tired of thinking about it and decided to go all in. With adding a KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, didn’t see the need to have the S1000r so a 2019 V4S came home with me :). Tail tidy already purchased and need to see if my 959 adjustable foot pegs fit as a little more leg room would be nice.

I did the same as you, unfortunately I had to trade the 1299S. And what a great choice the V4S has been. The first few corners riding away from the dealers in town I could tell that the V4S is a special bike. So I took the long way home through the hills in the country side, and OMG, I fell in love. I do not expect that I will tire of this bike.

The 1299S turned into corners like a scalpel and exited corners like an angry bat out of hell which left me grinning inside my helmet and hanging on for dear life, however it did have a certain disposition for mid corner manners.

Enter the V4S, this bike enters the corners very controlled with superb mid corner feel and stabilised corner exits while the engine provides smooth power and torque throttle roll on.

It does pain me to mention this as I was so fond of the 1299S, the V4 is an upgrade to the 1299 model.

Did a 200 mile ride yesterday and just wow. I was surprised at how well it works on the street. Suspension soaks up the bumpy road better than my S1000R did and 959 does. I put 24mm lower pegs on it and my knees were thankful. Looking forward to summer :)

You dont have a problem with the shifter being too high when you do that?

No issues for me on the street with the shifter position. Rear Brake lever position was awkward when I tried to see how it felt, but dont use it anyways so not too concerned. Wear a size 10/10.5 boot for reference.
