Yes I had one before and did test ride a V4S, but I liked the 1299 more. I sold the previous one due to shoulder and neck problems from a back injury and I could not ride very much. But PT got me fixed up and I stretch every day. So I looked around and finally found the one I wanted. In this area you just can’t find them. I almost got a left over V4, but like I said I just like the raw feeling of the V2.
 
Yeah that 1285cc twin is where it’s at! There’s a fix to keep the low beams on while high beams are on. That’s important to me cause I ride a lot at night

you got a mods list ready to go or r u just gonna ride it and enjoy it for now?

A diode in line that allows power to jump back to the low beams, but doesn’t trigger the high beams when the low beams have power
Cause diodes are 1 way.

when’s the bike coming? U better spray it down with Lysol
 
Its got radiator guards and the full Akra exhaust and upmap and license plate relocated. Its coming from Texas.
 
Its 3200 or so miles.....I really really tried to convince myself the V4S was the way to go....but could not. I even considered the new V2 Panigale, but I wanted the forced wheels and electronic suspension and the power (given that the tests and reviews of the V2 were a bit underwhelming by most, as they really tried to put a positive spin on it)......soooo that meant a used 1299S.
 
The V-twin is pretty glorifying! I figured the V4 will be the way to go in a few years...and I’m hearing that they are dialed in at the track. I was in the same boat as you, and made the same exact decision!

I still think a brutal V2 would deliver a much bigger grin than the manicured v4

I can’t wait till the dealers are offering demos again, I really want to compare the new V2 and v4 with my 1285cc big twin
 
Its not here yet........I'm hoping to get on the shipping manifest and get out sent out from Texas this week. Local dealers are practically begging people to take test drives up here. Lots of deals to be had right now, since sales are really down.

if you’re in need of movers “ChurchTown movers” have been moving my bikes all over for years. Nice husband and wife team.

If the dealer is shipping tell them DucatiKev says Lets Go!
 
Yes I have to be there to pick it up. Really can’t use where I live for drop off as it’s the middle of the city with no room for the semi, so I’ll use a Target parking lot a few miles from me.
 
Just picked it up today from the shippers. I forgot what a snarling beast they really are. With the full Ducati Corse Akra Evo system and no cats, it’s not near as hot under the legs as the stock exhaust was. Saturday should be a nice day to get out for a long ride.
