Kawasaki's H2 Superbike

I'll bet that the H2 is going to be a sportier version of a Zx11. With more comfortable ergo's than the Zx10r. Not a Superbike.

Something sporty enough that sportbike owners won't feel wussy on it. But more comfortable, better for long rides, and more powerful.

What the Busa would be if it was smaller, lighter, quicker.

I've been trying to understand the positioning of this new model in their lineup. I really like your concept, it matches up well with what already exists and the shifting (aging) demographic of sportbikers. Older farts that love ultimate sport bike performance but aren't interested in naked bikes need something more comfortable and the trick supercharger appeals to gearheads with the money to spend.

Yeah. The only way to grab that huge market, is with big horsepower.

At least half of the aging riders have ego issues that won't let them get onto a slower bike. They know they want a more comfortable sportbike, but not if it's an olde 1994 Zx9r.

The Busa wouldn't have sold at all if it had less power. We all know it's a sport tourer.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 Is Too Fast, Couldn't Get a Better Shot [Video] - autoevolution

Kawasaki Ninja H2 Insider Confirmation: Engine
A friend of a friend with inside connections to KHI has let me in on a secret or two regarding the Ninja H2. With great risk I do want to share this information with you but do keep in mind that I cannot reveal everything to you without threatening to expose my friend of a friend.

Without further ado lets start where everyone wants to, what engine will Kawasaki pack between your legs?

How do you like the sounds of a centrifugal supercharged 1,000cc Inline 4 making north of 222 bhp (225 PS, 165Kw)? Because according to Kawasaki that’s just what you’re going to get. The engine is said to be its own ground up design and not based on either the 1,043cc from the Ninja 1000, nor the 998cc ZX-10R.

To put that in perspective, the MV Augusta F4R 312 (the current top speed record holder for production bikes) is making a MERE 190 hp, the ZX-14R brings a lowly 210 bhp to the table, while the Hyabusa holds fast at 195 bhp. What will be interesting is if Kawasaki is willing to shatter the Japanese gentleman’s agreement limiting top speed to an even 300 km/h?

We still suspect Kawasaki might be sharing some components from one of their other two current liter class engines, the 1,043cc ZR1000 series (Ninja 1000 / Z1000) or 998cc ZX1000 series (ZX-10R). Whatever the engine’s true origins, we’ve been 100% assured that this thing will be absolutely the quickest and most powerful Kawasaki motorcycle of all time, by far.

Stay Tuned.

"centrifugal supercharged 1,000cc Inline 4 making north of 222 bhp......Trellis frame , single sided swing arm , 10 power modes , Advanced ABS , quick shifter and the Egos of a zx10 .... This is NOT a replacement for the ZX14R"

Nice :D

Quite intriguing.

That last picture makes it look like the bike is way smaller and sportier than I would expect for Kawasaki.

If this thing really is a Superbike, then it's a pretty radical step for a japanese sportbike company. Will a good sportbike, that isn't a race rep sell?. Hopefully it won't be as ugly as the latest Zx10r.

The Zx10r/1199/s1000rr already have a retardly powerful engines. Amazing that there even is a horsepower war at this point.

a new round has just been opened with the official > 200 HP config.
(not to speak about the rumored 300HP race version WTF!!!!)

with my limited mortal skill, i can't see myself taking advantage of 200+ hp...this is getting scary
always hope to see a 300 lbs bike with 100 hp...

TJ99 to the plan, DUCATI back to the supermono!!!!

OR:
make a small (sub 700 cc twin, watercooled - to run in the Leightweight twin class) and make the bike wigh <300 lb

(like a Cagiva Mito on steroids) - oh how i miss that little mito125 ...

These horsepower wars are starting to get excited / scary....

All this power is POINTLESS if you can't control it. If this thing does not have the electronics like the SL does (amazing traction control & wheel control), no way in hell, I would get this.

200HP is nuts.... I can't imagine much more without some user constraints!

STONER said he'd return to MotoGP if there were 300 HP bikes and no traction control allowed :D

whenever i am at the track, keeping the front down out of any corner is a real exercise with the 1199 (only with rexxer map for smoother throttle), power is really irreverent at my local trackdays, i am not sure who is the audience for such bike as the H2, to early to tell without any further details

RC390 will be my track bike for 2015, with fully upgraded suspension to purchase straight from KTM and a curb weight of 340 lbs, this will be a blast around the local tight tracks

+1

since i started racing (on gunny's old SV) i don't care about power any more. it's nice for thrills, but not relevant for fun.

yeah, blasting down the straight and i cant wait for it to be over, and dont get me wrong, the bike pulls like a train and everything is a blur,
but only when i approach turn one the excitement comes back, the thrill of nailing that turns can not be replaced with hp

that said, the 1199 is freakin good, i was able to hang with all 600s out there in the corner, so light and agile

the reason i got the RC 390 as track is because i started riding on a 1000cc bike, so i think i missed out quite a bit on learning to ride a small bike, and i wouldnt worry as much if i crash the bike on the track, 1199 is NOT cheap to repair

so i hope the H2 is not just a hp king, but will come complete as a whole package: nimble, fast and light weight. or else i would not be interested at all

KawE already have a high HP fat pig..i.e. ZX14....so I have to believe (hope) this bike will be a lightweight nimble machine..otherwise it makes no sense....
