During sunday ride, the kickstand sensor just went, while riding full throttle

had to tow bike, back to the shop

is it better to put a bypass, to avoid future FAILURE of the sensor

or better to replace the sensor?

If its a street bike, just get a new sensor, you don't ever want to accidently drop your bike because you started it in gear with the kickstand down.

Side switch is a Hall effect sensor, voltage sensitive and is integrated into the system loop. You can’t delete the circuit. You can replace the sensor with a bypass plug which emulates the circuit if you don’t want the stand (track)Not the best design as a failure of the switch will kill the bike. Not very comforting in city traffic.
