Hello all, I received a few Laser tools today and have a problem with the Ducati Service Manual PN contradicting* what's on Laser Tools.

6824 for adjusting the rear shock spanner and the 5335 steering nut tool fit correctly on a 2020 V4R

However, the 88713.4337 pinned socket, for fork maintenance does not fit a 20' R. Laser Tool PN is 6364.

The PCD of installed forks are 40mm, Laser Tool 6364 PCD is 42mm. I did measure PCD before ordering, so assumed I could just be 2mm off with my calipers, and decided to trust the service manual PN and OEM equivalent from Laser. The tool does not fit. Also, I know I'm using a 23' V4R manual for reference*, but I was not under the impression that Ducati has updated the forks or individual fork cap over the 2 years, and that the 23' forks are the same as 20'. If anyone has a 23' V4R and could provide PCD measurements of their forks, it would be much appreciated! That would at least tell us if there was a fork upgrade over the 2 years or a slight design change that wasn't realized?

The 2 other fork maintenance tools is 6363 but the PCD is 46mm, too large for a V4. The one I should have ordered is 6365 with a PCD of 39mm. If anyone has a 20' V4R service manual, can the equivalent OEM PN please be verified? The PCD measurement fits, but it would be nice to verify the service manual to what's advertised

And lastly...if anyone has a 2020 V4R service manual, can that please be posted to this thread! @bp_SFV4 did hook up the 23' manual but I guess I really do need the 20' manual for fork maintenance or general tooling verification. Thank you

So while you've all been mulling around, I've got an interesting update on the suspension tooling part numbers listed in ALL Ducati owners manuals. After purchasing Laser tools for fork maintenance, I settled on buying the OEM part number and it still does not fit. I bought the tool through Ducati Cross Country, provided my VIN in hopes this would be my last purchase, but somehow the OEM part number does not fit on the bike. I took measurements/photos and sent this over to Ducati and this is their response verbatim:

Ducati: "It looks like Ducati has the same tool listed across all years for your model, so this is definitely the tool they are claiming to be correct, however my service manager confirmed that tool will not work with the Ohlins forks so there is a manufacturing issue. We will be reporting this to Ducati although it's strange they have not corrected the issue at this point. Our Ducati techs use the Ohlins fork tool kit when working on any Ohlins forks and have not actually used the Ducati branded tool which is why we were not already familiar with this issue. We recommend purchasing the Ohlins branded tool which will definitely work with your forks."

My response: "Would it be possible to reach out to Italy so I can order the correct tool that was used to manufacture the bike? At this moment I've been about 5 weeks needing to get the fork seal repair, the customs shipment and further confusion on the part number has really delayed me getting the bike repaired and it's been unfortunate. I purchased the OEM tool as a last resort because I was having the same sizing issues with aftermarket tools that were listed as fitting the same part number. I've reached out to Ohlins and they're still trying to figure out the tool PN based off the tooling stamps on the forks. What's concerning for the customer and servicing the bike is the lack of transparency in the owners manual and what was used to manufacture the bike. That's the only available information for the customer related to the bike they purchased, and the information I have is incorrect, and the manufacture (Ducati) does not know what was used on the suspension. That is not the service I personally expect when I've spent $50k on a motorcycle. If there's any information Italy can have on the situation and help resolve this tooling issue I would greatly appreciate it."

I have yet to hear back from Ducati

So what top cap tools have been used on a 2020 V4R? I cant be the only person that has these caps installed

Received the k-factory tool today. Pins are correct but overall diameter is too small

Ohlins PN 00797-08 is the tool for FGR124 (43mm) forks. I think the FGRT has a different top cap (silver) although the forks are the same as V4R oem (blue)

The plastic shim doesn't allow it clear the preload hex. Removing the shim let's the tool sit further but it seems the pins are .5mm to 1mm too tight. Pins won't fully engage

This spanner was referred by Ohlins, but doesn't fit

What I'm going to try next is the 00797-08 version that GB Motorcycles makes, found them on ebay. I've also reached out to K-Factory to see if they can make the same multi-pin tool in the first photo, just slightly larger in diameter

This would have me at this point taking a grinding wheel to a piece of steal and getting at least 3 pins to match and when it didn't work lifting my bike over my head and throwing it.... Off a bridge.
