Laverty to Ducati?

Speedweek: 'Eugene Laverty in MotoGPâ„¢ with Ducati in 2015'

According to a report on German website Speedweek, Eugene Laverty - younger brother of Michael - is poised to sign a new contract with Ducati, but only if it includes the option to move to the MotoGPâ„¢ World Championship in 2015.
A 2014 contract with Laverty's Aprilia Superbike factory team is reported to be out of question for the riders currently sitting second in World Superbikes, as Sylvain Guintoli and Marco Melandri are already confirmed. Although Power Electronics Aspar is believed to be interested in his services for MotoGPâ„¢, a contract has not yet been submitted.
However, it is stated that Ducati is highly interested in both Northern Irishman Laverty and Wales' Chaz Davies, which could allow the former to ride with Ducati for one year in Superbikes so long as his deal contains a guaranteed to move to MotoGPâ„¢ for 2015.

Laverty and Davies would be a sweet duo. Hopefully it works out.

Laverty is intriguing but there has been at least one report stating it will be Sylvain Barrier and Davies for Ducati WSBK in 2014, which I actually prefer. Barrier has just been a machine in SSTK the past two years.

Looks like the rumors were wrong with announcement of Giugliano to the team...
