Fellow members, wondering if you can assist here with a dilemma of mine...

I a, fortunate enough to have a Belstaff outlaw jacket which is a fashion jacket however the softness of the leather makes it a pleasure to wear.... but without the protection I would never wear it on the V2.

So a few months ago in the sales I bought a Dainese Bardo jacket however when wearing it I feel like I am wearing a piece of wood I’m terms of the leather fit...

Now where I need your help...

1) best ideas to break in a leather jacket? Currently wearing my Dainese at home to try and make the leather more supple.

2) does anyone wear a normal leather jacket with something like a moto panda top underneath?

3) any other suggestion of super comfy leather jacket?

Looking forward to your ideas and thanks in advance for your time.

have you tried lexol or other types of leather conditioner? (mink oil used to be quite common)

It will break-in nice over time, but if you want to speed up the process, treat it with some good quality leather conditioner a few times.

I recently bought a Scorpion 1909 jacket and love it. It looks like a vintage fashion jacket but has Sas tech armour . It is very comfortable and the leather is more supple than my very old and broken in previous jacket.

You just gave me an idea with the SAS aged armour... the stock Dainese armour is like cement and level 1 hence may look at some sas tech or axoc level 2 flexi armour.

cracking idea, thanks

What is sas tech armour? That’s a good lookin jacket. Very nice. Old school. Really like that look. I think Revzilla has a sale or something this weekend

I love the jacket. My family thought it was a fashion jacket, and even after I told them it was for the bike they said I could wear it out when I'm not on the bike because it fits and looks great.

Rubber shock absorbers. Nice!

That would work so much better than metal or hard plastic

Especially on the joints that have previously been exploded and have screws or pins sticking out every which way : )

Sas tech is a German leader in armour.... they do super thin level 2 armour... very flexible and moulds perfectly.

That flexible armor material is called D3O - It's rather amazing stuff. I started experimenting with it many years ago and now it's finally in a few level 2 armor. Some of those have good ventilation, others really none. Something to look for. My AlpineStars track suit is full of it.

Ah you know I've been looking at this as well. It's a little more let's say effort as a thing, there is annual maintenance, but it's the direction protection is going.
AIRBAG!
What's different is Alpinestars has one for Street, traffic, and any jacket that is not too tight and stiff. (If a jacket is too tight and stiff, doesn't flex outward, the airbag will crush you.) They also have the track and their tracksuit only, like Dainese, track use only - the algorithms do not work for a traffic kind of accident.
THIS one works in traffic.
One of my concerns is it looks pretty warm as a garment. But maybe in England it won't be an issue.
This new one has a kind of breathable surface, but not as breathable as other things. It's an airbag, so ya, it's a big plastic bag. I tried it on.

Yeah, you need an inch or two if you wear the airbag under the jacket... which is a pain for a small arse like me:)

Dainese do one that can go over but looks as if you should be on a fishing boat with a life vest.

I'll have to look at that company and see how I like the jacket. I am looking for something to use on my Duc cafe racer. I normally don't look at non-fitted jackets.

The Tech Air 5 now allows you to switch it between race (track only) and street using their app.

It seems that Alpinestars newest products are steering more toward supporting the Tech Air 5 as opposed to their previous airbag options.

Try the Spidi garage leather jacket. It’s supple and broken-in from the factory. I had the same issue with a Ducati branded Alpinestars jacket I bought. The leather is Buffalo, super thick and stiff. I slept in bed wearing the jacket for about a week and that did the trick.

I have recently bought a new Suzuki Gsxr and i was surfing the internet for a cool biker jacket and luckily I found one with an affordable price range so I quickly bought it. Today it got delivered and believe its better than the last Biker Jacket I had. I'm attaching the link too may be it can help any one of my brother Leather N Jacket
