LED headlight conversion?

I've used the search function and haven't found what I'm looking for.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a LED headlight assembly for my base 1199. does anyone know what type of wiring harness or what needs to be changed in order to complete this conversion?

Nope. I was considering this myself, but I'm waiting til someone else can make a good "how to" thread (you!

). It seems cost prohibitive too. What kind of price are you being quoted on the headlight assembly?

around $1000. the dealer is asking over 1600

There was reseller of Ducati parts in Europe that had a set for sale, for a bit less than $1k, here (the assembly is still listed, just checked):

DUCATI LED HEADLIGHT UNIT PANIGALE 1199 1199S 52010222B | DUCATI PARTS ONLINE

Phil referred me to this site (thank you sir). I traded a couple of emails with them, and they said I would need the full harness to make the conversion. If you pm your email address, I can forward you the traffic I had with them. They said the harness was another $1,250.

That makes sense, as the resistors for the LEDs to work on a 12v system has to go somewhere, and they have to be heat sinked because of how hot they get. I think you could def do it without the new harness, just might not be easy and could waste your warranty.
