My 1299 S is my 1st Ducati, obviously first L -Twin. My question is do I need other upgrades like with Japanese bikes. Usually the first additions with my other bikes are Power Commander, Air Filter and Exhaust. However most common riders and even mechanics aren't European qualified, because of that no one will though my bike for anything even simple unless its at the dealership which is the only one where I live and on the other side of town. When I dropped my bike off at the dealership, I didn't get a welcome to the Euro/Ducati family feeling, so unless I know specifics... They won't answer questions.

Could anyone give me a reference point to start... Ducati/1299 Panigale for Dummies start if you will.

I've owned several bikes in the past, always willing to learn more..

Thanks

Some dealerships give that "we are dicks" feeling when you go there. Don't worry about that. What I would ask is what is the bike not doing that you want it to do?
The machine makes 205 H.P and 105LBs of torque, you really don't need more power.
The bike is pretty loud as it is.
You can try a Bren Tune, it will open up some power delivery, pick-up in the mid range and give a more even throttle response.
Your bike has forged aluminum wheels, personally wouldn't waste your money on Carbon Fiber rims.
IF you just want to bling the bike out, forget everything I said above and go nuts.

First thing you should do is a ECU Reflash. But decide if your gonna go Full system or Slip then Contact Motowheels out of California. All that first Gear stalling stopped and I just had to feather the clutch out of first Gear. Stock fueling I had to Rev it to the moon so it would not stall or die in first Gear. I hated my 1299 with stock Lean ECU settings

So, my bike has a full Race Akro, wasn't to sure about the ECU Flash since the electronics are very much a part of the Pani S.

Are you all saying that a PC5 and Air filter aren't needed because its an L-Twin, or that the stock parts ( that are on the bike) are what's better because a Ducati?

If your bike runs fine with Stock ECU programming Great

If you still have the charcoal canister I would definitely remove that. You can find instructions on this forum.

I would say bmc sprint race air filter and throttle body spacers to get rid of the slack

Rapid Bike Evo, is a fuel module that constantly adapts to run at the correct A/F ratio regardless of what filter exhaust you chang, or when you change. All plug and go, no dyno required and cost you about 1K. can simply be removed if you sell your bike.

I have a great ECU flash for the full akro that will smooth out the throttle, give you more power and just make the bike more fun to ride for just $300, satisfaction guaranteed

Skip the fuel controller and get a flash. I have the rapidbike on my 1299 but I dont even use it anymore after the reflash. feels great without it and i'm taking it off so down the road its one less thing to trace when there's an issue.
