So a couple weeks back I had some oil-looking-stuff dripping down the left side muffler. I put the bike up on its rear stand determined to find the source. I raised the kickstand, cleaned the muffler, cleaned that catch cup under the chain and discovered that it was full, and most likely the source of my problem. Ready to test for further leakage, I took the bike off the rear stand. I let the bike lean to its left as usual and thought, "Usually the kickstand catches the bike by now. Eh, it'll catch." Then KAPOW! Herbina Thunderbeast hit the ground. I forgot to put the kickstand back down! I lifted it expecting to find a grand's worth of damage. NOTHING. Well...there was some scuffing on the clutch lever. But it was easily cleaned up with some black spray paint. I thoroughly examined the rest of the bike and there wasn't ANY damage. I have no idea what held up the lower side of the bike. I assume that the traumatic experience activated some hidden telekinetic powers of mine. That's really the only explanation.

Anyways, I installed some T-rex sliders yesterday. Just in case my powers don't activate next time.

I'm sure you will be inundated with plenty of sanctimonious replies along the lines of...and the moral of this story is......

Do you promise to never do it again?

If you still had the paddock stand engaged in the rear wheel, then i guess it could have given you the clearance against the clutch lever and tyre.

Lucky :)
