I am looking at the Multistrada as a next bike and like the 2013-14 versions a little more so far.

But I see this nearby dealer with two 2018s at $9,499.

(If you don’t like clicking links the dealer is Road Track and Trail in Big Bend, WI)

Is this a decent price? The 2014s I’m seeing are close to this. The updated electronics are enticing in the later models.

This is a volume dealer. They get bikes from all over, shine them up a little and move them asap.

I am no expert on Mutlistradas, but I did a lot of research several months back before buying a 2020 MS... the one overarching concern I heard from mechanic friends that ride Ducati's was if you get one older than 5 years or 18k miles, has it had the main Desmo Service or at least the belts changed. Neither are cheap to have done by a dealer (my local dealer quoted 2200 for the Desmo service). All that said, I looked at few 2017s and 2018s that where in the 9k range, none had the services done, so I passed on and ended up with a 2020 that was in much better shape and less miles... will still need to do the Desmo service in a few years.

Get the Pikes Peak 1200 dvt or 1260. I wouldn't be one bit concerned about the upcoming desmo/belt service, it all comes out in the wash pricewise and these are stock standard service items just like brushing your teeth. My Multi has done over 50,000 km's and its golden, they are in a lower state of tune than Pani's and do really high mileages. What you do need to know is the service history, better if its been done by a shop but even by owner makes very little difference if both are competent, thats the bit you need to work out.

Belt are suggested to be replaced every five years. I had the belts done on my 2016 M1200R last year and brought-in the 2018 Multistrada for belts today. Both bike have about 18,000 kms.
