I'm vacationing in Florence, Italy in a couple of months and want to tour the Ducati Factory and Museum. I know I could rent a car and drive the hour trip but prefer to leave the driving to someone else. Anyone know of a registered tour company that organizes such a day trip? Thank you.

it's only a bit more than an hour, i'd recommend you get a car and drive by yourself. THen you can go downtown Bologna afterwards, better food and less Tourists, but a lot of Students and nice views, too.

Just make sure that you don't go in August, Ducati is closed then.

Ask me how i know. :D

guess where that picture was taken:

when you're in florence you can also ask the tourists office for bus trips or public transport (train?) but i'd really advise you to get a car...

You will need to contact the factory for a permit. If you are late for your time slot you will not be allowed in ask me how I know?!!!
Do not go on a Monday as the Ducati shop across the road from the factory is closed !
I was very angry when I missed the time due to huge thunder storm and torrential rain, I left Verona at 6.30am never made it!! Traffic in and around is horrendous , so I went across to the 'sweet shop' and that was closed so I shot off in temper and left poor Michael behind ... Tears of frustration trickling down my face. I had been racing at 70-80 in the storm trying to make up time and the roads were still uneven cracked due to the earthquake

Did the tour last September. Fantastic. Like the Duchess said, you need to schedule your tour with Ducati ahead of time. As for transportation, the train worked great for us. Get off at the Borgo Panigale station and take the 10 min. taxi. If you have luggage, store it at the station. Slam dunk.

Have a blast!

My wife and I are also going on vacation to Italy in a few months and are planning on taking the Ducati Factory/Museum tour. Those of you that have gone, about how long does the tour take, or how much time should we allocate to getting the full Ducati Factory/Museum experience?

I went there a week ago. Nice guided tour of the factory and museum.

Here is the confirmation they sent me. You must book it online in advance because it is a guided tour. There were at least 12 others on my tour. The tour guided was very passionate too. Photos are not allowed inside the Factory portion of the tour but fine inside the museum. I saw them roll the 1199 SL into the dyno room to test.
