holy crap ducati wanted him a while back to replace stoner when stoner was sick. i cant see JLO leaving a potential championship every year to compete for 8th place

Plus he can blame Ducati for him being beaten by Marquez...:p

15mil? That's absurd.

It's just like any other sport. We the fans end up gettin shafted when these athletes get paid a ridiculous amount of money. Sure they play a key role in generating revenue for the team/sport but greed costs us fans a lot of money. They want more money because the owners make a lot more when the athletes are the real reason owners are making money. In an ideal world, salaries would go wayyy down from athlete to owner n everyone in between and tickets/souvenirs would also get cheaper for the supporting fans. This will never happen since it is all a business but imagine the havoc it would cause the sport (pick your choice) if fans refused to buy tickets. We are simply condoning the hike in price and in return, it gives the athletes the upper hand to ask for such a ridiculous amount of money. One of the reasons why i dont go to sporting events often. Nosebleed tix for the lakers or clippers is over $50, n that doesn't include binoculars. Best seat in the house is at home. Never miss a play and you get every possible view and best of all, replays!

With a revamped gp bike for Ducati, I think jLo would definitely make Ducati a contender once again. Uncertain about increasing his chances of winning a title (or race for that matter) but he certainly has the skill n then some to definitely finish above 8-10th place. Podium anyone?

And if Ducati is actually joining the open class it seems like maybe a political move by Lorenzo. He is sort of voting with his feet in favor of eliminating the prototype class. I don't see this as an admission of Marquez superiority as much as an admission that Yamaha can't keep up with Honda in the prototype class anymore.

fyi the reason the prices for the 12 pani went up 1000 bucks is to pay for #46 15 + million euro contract.

also the nfl has been losing fan participation for years. thats why black market jersey sales are huge. i got evey available players jersey for my team for 200 bucks. 1 jersey through nfl.com is 279 and you cant tell the difference.

Looks like speculation .. The article states that the Ducati head grand Poobah is denying the rumors..

"this news was quickly denied by Ducati Motor Holding CEO Claudio Domenicali, who joked with La Stampa: "Really? Then we should also sign Marquez and can save us the development of the bike"

I can't take this rollerocaster of my Lorenzo Replica Helmet possibly matching my bike perfectly, to not...

Now they're just f-ing with my emotions lol...

this has zero basis in reality, did you just make it up or did you hear it somewhere?

Actually other than the R ..1199 prices did not increase..they simply omitted the ABS as being an option anymore..:)

BS...

Honda will be making a power play for him.

He wants to be on even machinery with Marquez to prove he's the better rider.

Yamaha better be saving for that new contract, and better be a hell of a contract to get him to stay.

It's all hearsay at present. The English press were only yesterday saying how Honda had been courting him for a possible 2015 deal, so believe who you will. Personally I don't have an issue with their salaries, as it is a short lived career and a dangerous one at that. At least these guys put themselves on the line each time they go out. Unlike the premier league footballers in the UK and Europe and their entourage of wags and non-entities. Most of the UK top flight players are on over 100,000 UKP a week! (around $163,000) and are the biggest bunch of pre-madonnas imaginable. All that money to watch 22 blokes kick a piece of leather around on some grass. I'd rather sandpaper my bollocks, than have to sit through a soccer match. Worse still when they get "injured" they roll around like girls on the pitch. I remember when Bayliss was still racing. He complained of water leaking into one of his boots. When he removed it in the pits, turns out he had worn through the titanium slider, the leather and his little toe, right down to the bone. The boot was full of blood. His adrenalin had masked the pain. Decision, "get me some tape and a bandage, I'm going back out". Difference is footballers can kick a ball, they just don't have any themselves, when it comes to pain and getting on with the job. Rant over.

equal machinery who is to say the bikes arent equal, even though they are different in their own ways. Jorge actually won more races last year than MM. A missed race and a few bad finishes due to injury is what caught JLO in the long run. thats not to say that MM would not have won anyway. he crashed in second place all by himself (20 point loss) black flag (20 - 25 point loss) right there you have 40 points gone minimum. Maybe it would have been a blowout if not for this but who knows.
i can say this MM made JLO a better rider this year and made it fun to be a fan.

i know this will never happen but imagine . JLO to honda, MM and JLO on honda. now yamaha has to do something drastic.

Stoner to yamaha in the same garage as 46. oh my what a year .

i know its not happening as he is the test rider for honda but that would sure be interesting. Plus he can give Yamaha all the honda secrets.

ps JLO 8 wins MM 6 wins this year. hard to say the yamaha isnt as good as the honda or that JLO needs to be on the same bike to prove anything

i heard it from someone in the stealership. the 1198 was 1000 less than the 1199 cause ducati needs to pay for the contract. makes sense i am paying for arod as we speak in ticket prices and beer. same thing here.

that is not a shot at 46. thats just business. when you have an outlay of x and you can raise prices of y to cover cost of x thats what you do

lol...as I was reading this I was thinking "here it comes, there's got to be a Stoner return in here somewhere".

Maybe Stoner can get 46 to realize that it is all in your head by teaching 46 how to ride the Pani he so self-riochusly(sp?) claimed was "unrideable".

Then maybe 46 can stop feeling sorry for himself and just enjoy the ride!

its ok, u r still great 46, u r now just older and with age comes reduced reaction time and hand eye coordination. Compensate by working out like crazy and not touching anything (drugs, liquor, sugar) that debilitates you in any way.

Or just do the A-Rod and get some 'roids! the dont test motoGP riders do they?
