Have to place a order for 1299 race bike . Forget rims , lights etc. just comparing suspension, how bad, good or tuneable is the Marzocchi stuff ? Has anyone here raced one.?

If you have a reputable shop revalve them I'd run em. Or jus buy some used ohlins from an S off ebay for 900 bucks

I actually prefer the Marzocchi's with either the Ohlins cartridge kit or a Mupo which I am currently using .
I have friends racing with standard Marzocchi's but it all depends on what level racing your doing .

As wilkson has point out, the marzochis are quite good for OEM forks. Unfortunately, its their reliability that is the big issue. I'm on my 2nd set now and the fork seal have started leaking and the rebound adjustment has disappeared.....so far I haven't lost compression adjustment..suppose that's an improvement over the 1st set. I'm sick of having the bike off the road waiting for repairs. Hopefully, the Ohlins cartridges will arrive next week

Marzizis are lighter too, great when they work, which is not very often. Ohlins are the way to go, very easy to find tuners who are familiar with Ohlins, and remember the resell value.

They are fine until they loose dampening which is what happens to all as far as I know.

It happens with the 1199s but hasn't been widely reported with 1299s (yet) - supposedly the same part # but maybe they upgraded
