Hey folks, So I'm rigging up some fan/radiator options and I'm looking for some feedback. Mick has sold a bunch of these shroud-less fans to guys running aftermarket pipes. I just ordered one for a project. Can anyone running one of these fans post a pic of the install particularly the clearance between the front header and the fan motor. I am particularly interested in seeing the setups of the guys who bought the shroud-less fan who are running the large SBK pipe with the SBK U shaped header. If you don't have a photo and have the SBK pipe/shroud-less setup could you give some insight on the install with regard to pipe/fan clearance. Here is what I am looking at from a clearance perspective.IMG_5788.jpg

Could we use a couple of small fans? top left and below. I don't think the setup Mick has will work for us with the big pipe.

  • Reliable, long lasting high torque motor lasts up to 3x longer than regular electric fan motors
  • 5 wide paddle blades pull large volumes of air for maximum heat extraction.
  • Designed for maximum performance at high static pressure loads for more effective cooling.
  • Sealed waterproof, dustproof IP-68 certified motors
  • 5 in diameter

I sent Mick the pics and he told me that he has sold a few of those fans to guys who have the sbk pipe so I posted asking anyone who bought one of the shroud-less fans for any info. So far nothing so I took his word for it and ordered one. It will be here next week and I will post pics of the install. I am working on a top solution as well in fact the radiator came with the ability to mount fans to the top section.

Yes that low shroud/fan of micks looks a bit promising and also the dp3 shroud from Duc Omaha also looks a bit interesting as well, looking forward to seeing what you find Ed.

Yeah the stock plastic fan/shroud will only work if you cut that huge section still super tight and the shroud does not work well anyhow in stock form. My shroud less fan has been tested in many forms with stock radiators to SBK radiators less heat buildup in the belly section so more cooling. So many variations of them large (SBK) header setups either way the fan sits low enough and close to the surface of the radiator it will clear.

able duc...so Micks fan is the one in the right pic and mounted to a part from Ducati Omaha?

My fan is a spal 5.2" same as OEM but different mounting frame and mounts to my carbon plate.

Never seen anything from Omaha could be a modified plastic shroud?

lol can you just rig up and combine a whole bunch of PC air fans?
