I thought that was a bad idea when I bought my bike. I really wish there was some aftermarket or factory options that were foldable
+1. I could understand if they were better than the 1199 ones but they aren't.

Try the Motoscience ones. I put them on my 1199 and they also fold. He has a couple of different styles. I put a post up a couple years ago when I got them with lots of before and after pics.

I thought this was done to improve visibility. I found the old ones were completely useless because of the vibes.

The ones I bought are more stable and do not vibrate as much, are a bit smaller, lighter. The only downside is the LED's are not as bright.

The 1299 mount different to the 1199 . As for visabity the 1299 ones are still .... .
