Was looking at their aluminum one mentioned in a prior post, but they're having production issues with that one. What do you guys think of an all-CF tank? How should it hold up, especially in a crash? 17L is $1990 and 25L is $2550 (I like the 17L one).

Was just thinking about swapping when I got track bodywork when available...for a custom look-

The Dragon Lady with a 19.2 l cf tank from Carbon2Race. I love it! :D

I did not have a precise scale on hand, but it seemed that the 2.2 litre bigger cf tank was slightly heavier than the aluminium tank. I might ad that the ally tank had been stripped of its paint and basically were just brushed and clear coated so should be slightly lighter than the standard fully painted ally tank - sold it to Cosmok.

This tank looks pretty cool!
I have the carbonvani CF tank installed on my Tri. It's not lighter than OEM. It doesn't leak at all and has no discolorations. But installation was a major PITA!!! I did never buy again anything from carbonvani, it's good looking crap because it never really fits. You have to grind for hours... Especially the fuel tank was terrible, not one thread was at the right place. I had to manufacture special screws to get the fuel pump mounted properly.

In my opinion the Pani OEM alu tank is already a masterpiece. Just look at the internal tubing, simply great. And everything made out of aluminium. CF tanks have the internal breather tubes made from rubber. So they naturally degrade while being exposed to fuel (this is the number one problem for all older MV F4s. The rubber hoses die and fuel pressure gets down to none).

My Carbon2Race tank was fitted by Ultimate Performance and Mark, the workshop manager, complimented me on both the fit and the looks. He had no problem at all to fit it.
