This is MV's direct competition to the Ducati Hyperstrada and some BMW bikes. Your thoughts? I own a Hyperstrada but this is completely sick. Specs follow the pics.

My only problem with MV is.......dealer network (and all the attendant issues a weak network implies).

Love their machines. Just shy about committing cash to putting one in the garage.

Charlie what do you mean by Dealer Network issues? Like lack of dealers or no support for the dealers from MV?

Part's availability for starters. I live in the biggest city in Oregon and would have to go to nearly three hours for the nearest dealer to the north, and around 10 hours for the closest to the south. Admittedly, MotoCorsa used to sell them, but went Ducati only a few years ago.

I think the parts and dealer issue will change now that Mercedes-AMG has bought in.

And damn thats a long way to go. Luckily my Duc dealer is also a MV dealer. 30 minutes from me. There is also another one an hour away.

Ours used to be an MV/Aprilia dealer as well, but went Ducati only a few years ago. Is it just me or is that a general trend? Seems like several of the larger Ducati dealers are now Ducati only.

Just the actual number of dealers and how far away any are. And how viable those dealers are (in terms of retaining that brand and technical ability).

Here in Atl area, I know of only 1 dealer - an hours ride away. The only other dealer I know of is 3 hours. What happens when the only dealer around decides to drop the line?

And then there are the rumors/horror stories of parts issues. I'm sure (or at least hoping) that Mercedes can get supply chain for them straightened out. But how long before Mercedes decides it doesn't need a vanity project like MV?

I don't worry about Ducati parts/service. Have a long-time acquaintance network with Duc people here in S.E. US and there's an active secondary market for Duc parts/service that I can (and have) tap into. But MV? Not so much....

The guys I use here in Atlanta area are Ducati only. I do wish they'd pick up another line, say......Triumph. Would make things easier (for me).

I've heard that from alot of people and the reasons you and Charlie gave most likely are why. Its a shame though cause they make some gorgeous bikes.

Indeed; the dealer network is THE issue for MV, and particularly relevant for touring models.
