My 1299S Build

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

They're required on the tracks down here. I assumed that was the case everywhere.

Really? Not up my ways.
But not a bad idea. First thing I do whenever a friend wants to even sit on my bikes is tell them it's GP shift before the mess with my shifter.

oh really? not required here.
I did not know. Learned something.

Wonder why it matters to Track people

So when your bike goes down the corner worker/track marshall can quickly and safely manipulate the gear box if the bike needs to be moved.

just curious rogue are you tracking this bad boy. if you are i would say your a very brave man

Beautiful build! I have a lot of the same parts you have on my 1199S but not quite on your level. Looks sick (and clean)! If you end up putting together an order for GP shift vinyls I'd be in also. I have been trying to find that exact decal for a while.

Yep.

But the 675R is the primary.

Um Yea,

My first question was, what does he have invested in this build?

To be honest, I have no clue.

I'm back overseas at the moment for work. I'll be back in August. I'll start a group buy thread late July and see where we're at.

I was reluctant to call this a "build", but with the number of one-off parts and the time that has been put into it, I think it qualifies as one. This took a little over a year. I think I'm calling it done at this point.

I'm probably missing a few things but here's a mod list:

- RapidBike Race module
- RapidBike MyTuning Modules
- RapidBike YouTune
- Wide band o2 sensors (from RapidBike)
- Rexxer flash
- Full DP Akrapovic exhaust
- BlackStone Tek CF Wheels w/ ceramic bearings
- 520 light weight quick change kit (41t sprocket at the moment)
- Ducabike clear clutch cover
- NRC fender eliminator kit
- Oberon clutch slave cylinder
- DP windscreen
- EVOtech Radiator guards
- LighTech rearsets (GP shift)
- Sprint PO8 air filter
- DP gas cap
- Full titanium bolt kit from Phil
- DP mirror bock offs
- CRG Arrow mirrors w/ Motovation bar end adapters
- Gecko's turn signal mounts w/ Rizoma signals
- Custom seat from C&C Seats (shaved, gel insert installed, re-covered)
- Shorai Battery
- ProGrip 717's
- Throttle spacer kit

I'm not going to list every piece of carbon fiber that is on the bike. If it was black plastic, chances are it was replaced with DP carbon fiber.

I want to give a thank you to the following individuals:
Yaman - Excellent product and support
Zohsix - Great deals on parts
Phl - The sweet ti hardware
Jarel - Great deal on the BST's and parts
Gecko - The indicator mounts, but more importantly...the chocolate
Endodoc - For the custom CF YouTune mount

Did C&C seats build you a new seat using their seat pan and installed their gel insert. Or did you have to send them your seat. I have one of their seats on one of my harleys , a danny grey on my other harley and my dad has a C&C seat on the same bike that I have a danny grey on and they feel the same. It is my understanding the guys at C&C used to work for danny grey and after a certain amount of years opened their own company. Probably why the danny grey and C&C feel the same on the harleys. But when i went on their site I didnt see any Ducati seats

I sent them my OEM seat. Here's a copy and paste from their invoice:

We will change the cover to Vinyl Asphalt Super Grip material. Lower you as much as we can while adding gel into your seat.

-Black Vinyl Asphalt Material (Super Grip)
-Foam Modification
-Add Comfort Gel (LifeTime Warranty)

Hi Rogue, I have RB with the wideband sensors and am contemplating getting the youtune controller , primarily to give me launch control. My race starts are .... ! Have you any experience setting the LC parameters and does it work. Do you turn off DTC and let RB do the traction control work ? Looks like RBTC has much more adjustment to it ?

The RB LC comes preprogrammed at 6100 RPM's. This is adjustable via the module in 100 RPM increments. I use the factory DTC.

I'm not saying that you assumed this but just a heads up; the LC isn't a auto hole shot device. You still have to modulate the clutch. It won't fix your problem if you suck at starts, but it is an aid.

Don't be like the guy who showed up to get his race license on his brand new R1M at my local track: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpk-ACFRmIU

I really shouldn't have laughed at that. Because that could have ended very badly for a lot of people on the grid.........................but I did.

I nearly looped my bike on my first race launch as a novice as well. Twice in fact, as i immediately dropped the clutch again after stomping on the rear brake to keep it from going over. Somehow didn't get run over and even won the race.

Both riders were ok so I wouldn't feel to bad about laughing (I did). I believe that the R1M owner paid for the damages to the other bike. I've heard he's a nice guy but this wasn't his first Prov Nov attempt.

Good on that guy for taking care of the others. Sounds like he should spend some time at a school or something if its taking multiple attempts at novice though.
