As requested a thread about my incident.

Had an interesting birthday weekend. (2 days ago)

Started off great then everything went up in the air.

I was up and on my feet within 1 hour of the violent crash- my body covered a good 700 feet flipping end over end.

Oil line bursted- bike caught on fire at 170mph started my tip into the 130mph chicane and I went flying-

And no.. steering stem nut wasn't the culprit.. lower stem nut was properly torqued to the steering head bearings. The top triple was pinched tight to the stem.. didn't even budge after the highside

Notice the red glow on my glove (while I'm taking flight) bikes on fire

Man, that was hard to watch. Glad you're ok. I know you just got that thing buttoned back up.

Any pics of the gear? Anything salvageable at all?

Jeezus, that looks frightening! Glad to hear you are OK and were up and about quickly - very lucky. Braided oil line hoses a possibility? What do you think would cause that; heat, pressure, both? Good luck with the rebuild.

Glad your ok mate. I had a lowside last year on my 1299 at 140kph (87mph), a highside at 140mph is just crazy! I'm surprised your bike looked better than mine after the crash!

Good to see you are okay. Someone was looking after you.

OMG dude!!!

That is absolutely unreal how & where that happened AND even more unreal is that you walked away from this from tumbling on the damn asphalt of all things too!

You are one lucky SOB my man - so sorry to see your bike smashed to pieces. I wont even use the typical line about "Bikes & stuff being replaceable" but you not! (Guess I just did) but seriously brother. So glad to see you walked away from this and all the best for getting both the bike and your state of mind back together in hope getting back on a bike doesn't become a problem. God bless you my friend!

That is one nasty fall Tadashi! You are lucky to be up and on your feet and I'm glad you are okay!!

Glad you are ok and here to post this. Says a bunch of how good the modern riding gear is.

Hope you are not too banged up, you usually start to feel it a couple of days later.

Oh jeez. Glad you are ok. Hope you get back riding soon.

Here I am complaining about my QS jeezz. i'm an ...... lol

Glad your ok man. That's quite a step at Fontana slowing from that straight. I'm guessing you lost an upper or lower oil line from the cooler. That wouldn't be the first time I have seen that. Those AN fittings have to be right and the nuts on the fittings should be drilled for wire. LMK if you need anything. That sucks.

Thanks everyone for all the love and concern! I'm in a very active recovery mode. Went to work on Monday so I wasn't too banged up.

I feel like I got away with murder..

Im gonna be either buying a lot of parts or selling a lot of parts soon!

Thanks buddy,

Return line (lower) The fitting failed at the crimp, it didn't back out. Very odd. That's what I get for buying a twice used kit... (I'm not blaming anyone)

I understand you have a few spare parts lying around

If you or anyone else has a line on any parts
I'm probably going to be in the market for:

15+ dash, r/s/base harness, bbs (if not s harness) And maybe imu haven't checked if the front end grenaded it haha

If you're wondering why I would want a 1299s harness it's because I'm running 1299 electronics (without the electronic dampers) on my 14R but I can swap to the r stuff
