You can justify this Castor just tell yourself/anyone near you that gear expires so you want to keep the "classics" to commemorate your rides and the new stuff to keep you fresh!

Dude, don't beat yourself up over it. :D

I stopped trying to rationalize it years ago. Between winter activities (skiing/snowboarding) and summer activities (street riding, dirt riding, mtn biking, rafting, etc...) I think I have every piece of gear ever made.
My philosophy is if you use it, enjoy it and/or it keeps you safe - get it!

If you get it just to have it, THEN you haz problems.

Me too. I still have a Bell Moto 3 from 1978 and my Bell Star 2 from 1981. Wish I still have my Bell Star from 1978. Still have my motocross leathers, some old Joffama gloves and Koho shoulder protectors all from late 70's.

You should see all my military gear though. Got trunks of that stuff from the 70's thru to current day molle gear.

Ugh. Don't get me started on the mil gear, I have several metric tons of crap in my garage:D
 
I got a Thorax vest enroute :D. I am still undecided on what to do about boots, Dainese or new Sidis. RS gloves might be replaced by Handroids.
 
Well...it's nice to know I'm not the only one with issues!
I have 7 helmets! And not cheap helmets.
3 Arai, a Schuberth C3, a custom painted Schuberth SR1, A Givi Jet and a Nexx Vintage.
5 pairs of gloves (none cheap)
5 Jackets
Several pairs of riding pants, etc etc etc...
My whole list would look rediculous...
And yet....I covet more :)
I spend a sick amount of time scannning Revzilla.
 
somehow i got out of the helmet collecting. had five now i am down to 2 but oh the demons are calling so hard to stay off revzilla and sportbiketrackgear. i watch the reviews and shake not to buy.
 
For example,

I have a very high end leather 1 pc $2,XXX and I love them 100% or nothing wrong it it, but I still want more lether 1 pc of different brand!...

not good.
