Received a call on Friday to say that my Tricolore is finally on its way. Can't wait!

Due to it being late my dealer offered for me to come and borrow their 1199s demo for the bank holiday weekend.

Picked it up yesterday. First impressions are that it's really light, easy to turn and the clutch is so much better than my previous 1198sp. Quick shifter seemed snatchy at first but after riding it again this morning it's just a case of getting used to it.

Power is so different to any other twin I've ridden. Much more like a 4.

Overall love the bike.

I have noticed a few issues, flat spot at about 3500rpm second gear! I'm sure it's something to do with the exhaust valvle as the deep exhaust note disappears and you have to give it some stick to get it going again............ Not the safest!!! I'm not worried about this as I'm getting the Tricolore so I'll be fitting the termi's.

Smoke: I have read all the info on here and other forums. I have also had info from my dealer that all is well. However, this bike didn't smoke at all at the dealer, didn't smoke when I started it up the next two times. Then on the third start......... OMG it was like standing in the middle of a foggy field!!! Even if it's not an issue going forward you do feel a bit like a lemon when your showing off your new bike and then you nearly choke everyone to death!!! I and can't hep thinking it's strange that some bikes smoke and some don't!

Overall I'm still 1000000% sure I'm going to love my Tricolore when it gets here, all being well I should collect around the 18th.

In the mean time im off out on the demo for another blast!!

Ive got that flat spot too. In second at about 4500 rpms. Going to have the dealer look at it on the first service. Other than that, love my 1199s! Im sure you will too.

Do you have the termi's? I love the S can't put it down, it's not even mine but after a hors riding this morning I found myself giving it a polish!!!! :D

My S is stock. No termis. I'm with you. Love it. I'm not worried about that flat spot. It will get sorted out.

Hopefully you'll get some good weather to bring her home. Congrats.

I'm pretty sure the flat spot is exhaust valve related, as I had it happen a few times, but not since I slapped on the termi's :)

2 weeks ago I took delivery of my tricolore a few months early due to a cancelled order. I only ordered the bike in December.

The bike has the full system on it and has no flat spot.

Enjoy your new bike:D
