After finally getting all of the correct parts for my rearsets and getting them all properly put together I took the ol' girl out for a shakedown...and apparently I ran over a nail as I made my way on to the highway and it took me for a ride across two lanes of traffic. Today I am thankful I came up on dirtbikes, there isn't much like losing the rear tire at 85mph. New tires coming on Tuesday, back to the track next weekend! Woo!!

Be safe out there everyone, enjoy the weather!

Tire warranty?

I benefited from this warranty twice before on past bikes n have it on my 1199 but hope i never have to use it.

Good thing you didn't go down.

Tire warranty? What on earth is that? I have never heard of such a thing

I had two track days on those tires and the rear was down to the wear bars on the sides. Ordered a set of Supercorsa V2's when I got home. Sometimes you have to pay to play...and today I am forking out the dough.

Keeping it on two wheels is always a good thing, and I'm thankful there were 5 people that stopped on the highway to make sure I had a ride coming. Apparently Ohio is full of good samaritans...and I find it funny that they all ride harley's.

My dealer offered a tire and rim insurance for 3 years at a cost of $600. Provided the tread is more than 25%, no questions asked.

450 for 5 years on mine.

Kind of a waste since i don't have the oem wheels on the bike but it's a piece of mind on tires. 90/yr is worth it.

glad the lil woman came and gotcha... I would have if I known earlier!
ps what track you heading out to next weekend... I didn't know!?

Thanks for hitting me up earlier. Chris Meredith showed up on the SV to lend a hand too.
NCBike this weekend, Mid-Ohio the Monday after fathers day. Busy few weeks, Looking forward to Pittsburgh in July--they're going to be running the full course--you should come if you aren't busy.

In about 6 months, we should have our new house ready. It's 30 minutes from VIR and an hour and a half from NCBike. You are welcome if you ever need a place to stay.

I hate nails.

my record was:

250 miles on the new tire (and bike) in 2012 when i bought it. patched it from the inside, ran it at the track and street until it got bald.

glad you came out of it okay!

CharlieM90 got stranded on the Blue ridge parkway once, that kicked it off for me.since then i always carry a plug kit and 6 cartridges.

cheers!

You better Believe I'll take you up on that! I want to ride the full course at VIR, every time I'm down that way it seems like they are just running partial track. My girlfriend's parents live in the suburbs or Richmond so its a pretty good staging area for NCBike, its only about an hour or so drive. Hopefully Dominion will be finished by late August, I am supposed to be heading there 8/23. It looks like it's going to be a pretty great track.
