NCM Motorsports Park, Oct. 29 & 30

Wanting to do another track day, I came across this one at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, KY.


I don't know if I'll do a single day or both days but if anyone else from here was going we can split a garage rental.

It would be my second track day, so I'm very much still in the novice class.

I had a busy day. Drove 2 hours to buy a trailer after finding all the local options sucked or were overpriced. Ended up with a 5'-8' ramp which has a 5'-6" tall interior. That's a big as I can reasonably pull with a 2019 Ford Edge. Anything bigger or more to the point, taller, creates too much frontal area. There's a lot more wind resistance than a U-Haul motorcycle trailer. When I get off the gas it reminds me of driving a Tesla with the regenerative braking. I went from 23 MPG to 15 MPG. With the U-Haul it was more like 18 MPG.

I ordered the Pitbull trailer restraint a few months ago in anticipation of going this route. It really is the best way to tie a bike down. Takes a couple of tries to get it set right but once you got a feel for it its easy. The front of the trailer works like a wheel chock so that helps.



Backing in the driveway was super sketchy. Short trailers are murder.



Track days this weekend but I think Sunday will get rained out. I don't think I have the track skills to add rain to the mix.

I'm in garage 11 at NCM this weekend.

The 5 x 8 trailer looks like the perfect size for a single bike and the occasional track day rider.

For sure. Once loaded up with gear its the way to go. Sadly, I won't get to build it up before the weekend.

COTA 2023 is the long game goal.
