Hi all,
I need help with a paint scheme for my 2015 1299S. I want to paint the bike like the 1199 Senna edition gray/gun metal color. I also want a orange detail stripe starting below the nose continue down and end near the rear set for both sides. I hope someone who can come up with a drawing or a picture I can send to the painter. Thanks in advance.

Not going to post one of my usual replies to this question unless personally asked to from the Author of this thread - who just happens to be my neighbor here in the Washington, DC area! (Im from Fairfax DucMoto) and anxious to help you with this project since I am personally VERY tied in with one of the very best Ducati Painters in the US man! I normally post up tons of pics of his work, his contact info and matter of fact even ask all those members here to chime in showing off the work they've had done to their bikes as well. This guy is TRULY a Class Act and will talk w you for hours about paint, the best aftermarket bodywork, or anything else you wish!

If you would like to see any of his work here please either do some searching by using "Connecticut Cycle Refinishing, CCR, Sean Lezotte" or contacting me if interested man. Would even love to meet up with you in person if you care to ride out to RT 50 in Fairfax? Love to even show you my Tricolore too! :) Here to help!

@gunny: sound like you got the answer for me. Please let me know the best way to contact the painter. We'll definitely have to meet, I am near the NOVA Annandale campus.
@thamer: I will entertain the idea.

@gecko which color would you recommend with the gray Senna version color. I saw the gray/orange combinations of KTM and thought it is good. However the Ducati red is not bad either.

Sorry, I'm not in the paint business.
But if I'd got for the Senna scheme, I'd do it like on the MV F4 750S (2007). Found some codes on mvfaq:

Fairings: PPG*0038 Metalic Black & PPG*0039 Metallic Grey
Wheels: Pulverlac 1111950506 Red & Sebino 35209052 transparent/clearcoat
Frame: Palinal 255I0005 & Palinal 211XH578

Wow! That is a beautiful color combination. One of the distinct feature was the red frame, which I can't do on the Panigale. I did a google on Panigale custom paint and found a few that have the similar scheme by Milano Artworks, SM Silmotor, Pinzo, ... with different color combinations. I guess I will talk to a painter and see if he can come up with something similar with some personal touch.

Ducati - Ducati present ?Senna? version of 1199 Panigale S exclusively in Brazil from June 2014

Red detail stripe on the nose would definitely pop.

If you could pull it off, the SL paint would be beautifully photogenic and would certainly grab your attention in person.

Either way, I really dig this color combo on the Panigale.

While you are at it...
FORMULA  1 Chronograph 43MM SENNA SPECIAL EDITION Anthracite with red touches Steel bracelet | TAG Heuer

I saw the bike when it first came out and wanted one. But of course it was not available in the U.S., I guess this is my next best thing. I found the watch on Ebay, but not sure if I want that. I just worked out a deal with a painter from Italy, found on Ebay. I am still trying to sketch a drawing for him, I am not a drawer so here goes...

I'd caution against a stripe running from the nose down to the rearsets. You typically want a line that emphasizes a wedge, but with the pointy end facing front. Think dragster, stealth bomber or panther ready to pounce. If the front of the line is higher than the rear, you get the appearance of the opposite of speed--an air brake (or worse, a seated elephant or pooping dog).

I don't think lines really work on the fairing of the Panigale in either direction, but if you're going to do a line, I'd go with something up the nose, onto the top of the tank and extending to the point of the tail, like Darth Wang's:

Another member I have not seen nor heard from in a LONG time here!!

How are you Anti Hero?? Been so long since we last communicated and Ive not even heard what the latest is with you these days either! After all you conquered I can't even imagine what unreal challenges you have planned for yourself next brother!
Im guessing Ducati gave you a open account toward future purchases of ANYTHING after what you did for them man! Again, sincere congrats on ALL you've done!

Also, not sure Ive ever seen that bike before either?
I once had wheels like that which was the worst decision I ever made
(No offense toward you or that hot ... bike whatsoever man!) For me it was just a brutally hard task keeping them clean and also keeping the ghost effect from happening to them after awhile too. Could ya post up some more pics of it from other angles as well please? Love to see the rest of it if possible?

Stay safe and stealthy out there my friend. You are a true HERO! ;)

Hey Gunny,
Been a while indeed. Hope you're doing well, bud.

The guy Darth_Wang is on Instagram. And I agree with you on the wheels--I do not like detailing my bike enough to go with anything other than black or dark grey.

And thanks for the kind words.

Dennis

Hi Dennis,
I, like many other here and other forums, am a fan of yours. I have spent hours of reading your stories since your travel through the US. I have spent a few years on the road for work, but nothing compare to your adventures.
Well back to my bike.
I was thinking to paint the line on the edge of the fairings, I should have been better with my descriptions, but not to split the fairings in halves. Attached is something I come up with a friend who knows how to draw with Photoshop. I agree with you, a straight line through is not cutting it. :)

Thanks, DucMoto. Wish I could just keep riding forever!

Ahhhh, ok, now I get it. Looks cool, I really like it. Never thought about outlining the entire fairing, but it gives it a futuristic Tron-sort of look. Can't wait to see how it comes out.

Really appreciate the input. Just paid the painter and hopefully have the new fairings by mid-July. I will post pictures when it is done.

Oh. Was just going to ask whether you got the chance to speak with Sean at CCR about this whole thing yet Moto? Looks like things are falling into place for ya now! :)

Brendan,
I did talked to Sean, he gave me a price range which is a bit higher than what I had expected. The custom color of the Senna and the neon orange are hard to do. In addition I will have to get the race fairings too. So I got in touch with a guy from Ebay whom I was about to buy the fairings from. He also offers custom paint job for racers in Italy. I had a good price point with him with the fairings included in the deal. Sean did confirmed that this guy is good, because he was skeptical about products from Ebay. He is a real good guy and very knowledgeable of his profession. Will consider him for future paint jobs on my helmets. Thanks for checking.

Pretty bump out now. I just found out that the fairings which I was about to buy were only for track. I have been looking but no luck on finding an unpainted fairing for street. Just have to put this on the back burner and on with other mods. Thanks all for your advise.
