Alright I need some I put from some of you more experienced track riders please
I have had the suspension setup for my weight and the bikes feels great, I run a fast pace in the 200 group and I need to work on getting my body off the bike a little more and my chest a little farther forward. With that out if the way from looking at the tires what can u tell me, and help is greatly appreciated

had the same.

what tire pressures do you run? i figured 28 psi in the rear was too low for my 200 lbs.
32 worked better

Pirelli .. SC2's run at 2.2kg front and 1,7 (at 80°C) when warm track - 1,9 in the morning when fresher... mine run round very well...

cold day?

Based on appearance and how shallow the tear is, I'd guess it's a hot tear. Try going up a couple of pounds and see if that cleans the tire up.

I had a noob moment my last track day and forgot to check my pressures until lunch. When I had my tires changed the local shop put high pressures in them 38psi. I had a pretty good morning despite the high pressures and the tires wore very nicely. Last season I ran 25psi in the rear and tore the tires up horribly. So as already stated, you are probably running too low of pressure. 38 is insanely too high since you might lose traction, but somewhere around 29-31 might be decent.
One thing is for sure, you are very consistant with your perfect markings on the tire, lol.
Bump it up and see what happens...

Hey Kevin are you running tire Warner's? My tires used to do that on the out lap till I started using them. The grounds still cool up here and their cold tearing. Give me a call if you want to try them out.

So how was your trackday Saturday? Big smile I'm sure :D

I have the same problem... and I was thinking that its cold tire tear, but now I'm starting to think its more of getting on the gas so hard that we are spinning up the rear... leavinb blackies on the exit.... My TC is set to 2.

Didn't check the pressures right when coming off the track I should have, TC was at 4 then 3 later in the day, TC was on pretty consistently driving out of corners, not using tyre warmers, and the rear is the SP V1 it was all the dealer had at the time I have a V2 ready to to on. It was in the mid 70's through out the day so not to cool out

Your still going out on cold tires and you've graduated to the fast side of level 2. As you get faster that wear will get down to the edges. Hey I've got the Warner's , stands, and generator. I'll be at the ridge July 29 helping Lisa with her first trackday. So if you supply the pretty umbrella girl ill crew for you.

Let me run that by my wife, lol, so from watching the video I'm guessing its hot tear and I need to raise the pressure a little bit, or am I reading that wrong
Twisted, those were just a few pics the wear was out to the edge I just didn't post the pics or I may have not taken them

Oh isaw the wear out to the edge. So brag away. :D
I expected nothing less being on the fast side of 200 :D

If its warm that day I might even wear shorts and blind the competition with my white ass legs

I'd send Dave Moss an email with a pic and paypal him $20 to tell you what he recommends. He set up two bikes for me and can tell you everything (Pressure, Rebound, Compression) just by looking at your tires.

+1

Dave Moss is The Man. He is so cool also to post up free videos explaining almost all he knows and his techniques. You can't replicate his "feel" and experience but he de-mystifies what can be a black art.

Upon further examination where most of the turn up rubber is there are indents, ya I know kinda obvious which makes me think that the tires needed more air air
