Yeah, that's from the WSBK tests at Aragon earlier this week. Looks like they've revised the rear header for sure, and it's different from the 1199RS that they unveiled at the show in Germany recently, so probably still a work in progress during the testing season.

So if they find that works, will they mail us full system folks the upgrade? or charge 1700 more? ><

That's Guiliano in the 2nd photo, maybe Carlos is testing a different exhaust?

It looks like that header is on the outside of the swingarm? With less bends probably frees up a few ponies?

The bends aren't the most important part. It's the diameter and length. Bends are a by product of this and design of the bike. This is determined by the volume of exhaust and the characteristics of the flow of exhaust. The idea is to create a low pressure vacuum by one cylinder's exhaust to scavenge the exhaust as the other piston's exhaust is released. So on and so forth.

Where do you guys ride? I just moved to Sierra Vista. I see so many cruisers, not enough sportbikes...

I'm in the Northwest Phoenix valley so I tend to ride Yarnell hill to Prescott quite a bit and just started riding South Mtn as well. Thinking about doing a few XCEL track days starting in Jan.

I saw they had some lapping days at the Track in NM (3hrs from me). Next one is Nov 2/3 or 3/4 can't remember. Thing about it... I'll be honest though, I'll be taking the RC8RS.

Looks to me like they could be testing with the bends of the exhaust to help with the flow(as someone has stated) or they are trying to make the rear header as close as possible to the middle of the bike for a more centralized mass. Panigale's main weapon in the transitions .
