i have this exact helmet and it's a great helmet with good ventilation.

The graphics on it are ok but they have a flat finish which i like.

Corsair V is kick ass in my book. Yeah....not a fan of the Japanese writing on it.....
Revzilla has the Nicky Hayden 3 on sale for about $600 which is great!

Yeah i really liked the flat finish, the sales person said they aren't the quietest helmet around. Is that true?

yes your sales not is not lying it's the biggest downside of the lid and you will probably want to wear plugs but remember it really is a track focused lid.

I don't think you will regret buying it especially if you are getting it for a good price.

Hi, I'm looking for a new helmet and the local shop has a big sale on this one

Arai Corsair V Okada Ryu Helmet, Arai Helmets from GPhelmets.com

Whats people thoughts on this model? the only down side is that it has Japanese writing on it ;)

Cheers

Hey there, I have an as-new Arai Corsair V Harada (Arai Ducati Helmets | Corsair Harada Silver Helmet)
Similar flat black and grey but I think a bit cooler graphic, IMO.

It's a M but quickly I realized I needed a small and didn't wear it. The shop wouldn't let me return it because they had to custom order it. I even have a new set of thicker pads to see if that would remedy the situation. So I have the standard pads and the thicker pads that would come with the helmet. Would cut you or any other forum member a deal on the helmet if interested.

Either way, you really can't do better than an Arai Corsair V if it fits well.
Cheers

Anyone consider the X-Lite X802 Checa world helmet?
I'm pretty keen to buy the blue one which is the same as the one he was wearing when he crashed at Phillip island last weekend.

Corsair V is a race helmet, it isn't designed to be quiet. I have a Corsair V Isle of Man TT limited edition and I love it but I also ride with ear plugs.

I have new Corsair V and love it. Really quite quiet for a race helmet, certainly more so than like an AGV. Revzilla has several Corsair Vs on closeout, and they always do. Generally will outmatch any local shop since no sales tax and 5% Revzilla dollars for future purchases. I am not affiliated with them at all, but LOVE Revzilla. And if not racing, may check out the Arai RX-Q. Their top grade helmet but made not so much for track. Thoguh I've had both and I love the Corsair, even for my putting around on my daily commute.

I have this helmet in the Nicky 3-stars design.
This is an excellent helmet if it fits the shape of your head. It is light and has very good air-flow and a removable liner for washing. It is noisier than non-race (road/touring) helments. You do have to wear ear plugs, even more so with the Ducati exhaust noise compared to other bikes; but the wind noise is also loud.
A number of different graphic designs are on sale now. I noticed last week that Revzilla.com has several to choose from. A steal at US$630.
