Welcome to the clan, had mine for a little over a year now and same as you its my first Ducati and I absolutely love it.
I don't know of any specific events as such but there are a couple of owners up your way on this forum , maybe you guys could get together for a ride. I am down in the Gold coast hinterland and mostly ride the roads south of here but if you ever get down this way I'd be happy to catch up.

Some good riding up your way, Woodford to Maleny on to Kenilworth and up to Montville etc. Few bikes call into Bellbird creek café just short of Kenilworth. I ride with a mate from up there every now and then.
