Hey guys new here and looking to purchase Panigale V4s what better way than hitting the forms prior to my purchase. I am currently coming from the 2021 S1000rr that I purchased in the Spring of 2021 and I love that bike still IMO the best literbike money can buy with that said there is something about the V4 that I cannot stop thinking about hence planning on making a purchase. So what would you guys do if you had the following options:

A- Buy 2021 Ducati V4s with full Akra / dry clutch / light wheels.

B- 2022 Ducati V4s base.

C- buy either the SP or R. Option a will run be close to 50k out the door so hence option C coming to play.

I would just be doing street riding. Is there a really big difference between 2021 model vs 2022?

thanks

Hi, everyone is arguing about something stupid on another thread, we'll respond to you later.

Just kidding, but not really kidding.

The dif between 2021 and 2022 performance-wise would be difficult to feel for most people doing street riding. On the track they say less-advanced pilots have been able to push it a little harder with resulting better times. We're talking fractions of seconds better. It's not "faster," it's more confidence enabling with improved traction and slide control that is already really good since 2020.

SP: There are some guys on here that have the SP and seem to like. Resale value stronger? Ask those guys.
R: why you'd want an R for the street? Take the extreme and go all the way extreme. It's def cool factor. Talk to guys with the R. You might be very uncomfortable on the street.
S: I have the S, love it. There are vids of pros making astonishing lap times with the S. All the arguments are around electronic dynamic Öhlin suspension: For racing - illegal. For street, awesomeness. You go from smooth to goat-trail and your suspension changes automatically in fractions of seconds within set parameters. Or you can turn it off and go full manual. I take my wife riding, hit a button, different suspension set up with her. Like, Rolls Royce soft. No down-side. That said...

Some say they can build a better set up with the Base Model with the same money as the S and certainly with $50k as with what you get from the S or SP packages.
So then you ask yourself if you like more garage time or ride time. Or you want a show bike. What's your deal? Are you vaccinated? Don't answer that. Really. Really, don't answer that.

lol, I am sure folks are busy its the same over at the S1k forums.

Yeah, seeing the Ducati 2022 revel video they stated the factory rider was 1 sec faster on the new V4s. Also, I do like the 2021 wings better than 2022.

SP & R- Valid points- I don't really need either of them for the riding I do even for a track day, it's just that spending the $ on V4s accessories quickly adds up on the price which becomes more than SP & R.
S- I do like my electronic suspension the beemer and I am sure the V4s will be far superior to that one. I'll stick with the V4s makes more sense. I do like my Garage time as much as riding time lol they are just so beautiful. with that said - are they any issues with Dry clutch in terms of maintenance reason is the bike I am looking at already has this installed by the dealer. A quick search here brought up a thread where the OP stated it will need to be replaced every 2000miles, is this true for every dry clutch or depends on the user. Any idea how much $ would require to maintain this dry clutch and how much would be cost me to take it back to wet?

My Vaccine status is simple FJB!;)
