Here is a spare tail from CDT (Full Six). This is the latest production unit. It is considerably refined from a fit perspective that the previous units. It ships with what looks like the correct seat/tank bracket hardware and now has provisions for the Lambda and electronic shock suspension wiring. I have been using one of these for a year (7500 miles) with zero structural issues which is amazing as this thing is light. This is shown with the street tail cover assembly.

endo, how do you access the DDA jack if the tail doesn't open up like the stock one?

and how much did this run you?

The DDA plug is under the back of the seat lip. 2 seconds to get to. Next to is is the USB plug for the Rapidbike. I mounted the RB module in the tail. Very easy to get to. The complete sub frame is about $1800.00 which is crazy overpriced but for now it is what it is and compared to $4000.00 for the SL carbon sub frame that you still have to buy all the tail pieces for, its a bargain and the CDT CF is a bit more robust than the SL carbon. The tail in the pic is actually a 1299 tail. I have an 1199 tail on my 1299 in the bike photo.

These things are very tasty. I'm pretty sure my race fairings are Full Six. I use the 1199 ones just because I was able to find a couple of sets second hand. The 1299 seat unit looks much nicer than the 1199 one though so I've kept the tail fairings on so far but it would be nice to get one of these units if they were not so damn expensive!

I'm starting to dislike you. I can't stop looking at this tail section.

Its a great piece and it sure is a lot cooler (temp) than the stock aluminum unit. That cast aluminum subframe bolted to the motor is a giant heat sink. No fun. Its over priced from a materials perspective of course but not nearly as insane as the factory SL piece

It seems everything made of CF is overpriced but compared to the SL this ones a bargain. Nice that everything's there for mounting. A little pair to match my bike with the carbon exposed where the black is would work nice. Thanks for sharing, it's added to my list.

A decent amount . The entire tail with light, and my Rapidbike module (mounted in the removable tail tray) seat/tank mount and BBS is lighter that just the aluminum frame section on the stock bike. Then you add all the tail pieces so its quite a bit. Again I did not get this for weight reduction. I used it to solve a rider/heat issue which for me was much more mission critical that saving weight.

Thanks. I haven't experienced any heat problems but that's still a bonus. Appreciate all the info and opinions you've shared.
