After seeing some of the work Sean at CCR is doing with Panigales, I want to spice up my 1199 Panigale. Thinking about giving her a new set of fairings/bodywork and giving her a slightly toned down MotoGP or WSBK-inspired paint job. I've always liked that look. And the all-red look is getting a bit boring/too monochromatic.

I'll take off and keep the stock fairings/bodywork for resale later on down the road.

It looks like most people here are going with a set of Sharkskinz or DP bodywork.

Since I don't have any experience with this..a question or 2 for everyone...

1. Would you guys recommend one brand over the other? If so, why?

2. Since I do 95% of my riding on the street. I need to run the headlight and "antler style" rear view mirrors on the bike. Will I be able to keep both on the bike with these sets of bodywork?

Thanks for the help guys...

Stick with the DP then if its just a street bike. From what i have been told its just stock body work unpainted and you get headlight/taillight block offs if you do track it

Sean just posted some ideas himself on the previous thread.

If you wanted to ask someone questions on bodywork and pain, THAT would be your best bet my friend! He can literally tell you why Sharskinz is the preferred bodywork for people in his line of work, and more! Shoot over there and send him a PM!

Ran set of Skinz on my street bike for MANY years which is so much less expensive and high quality as well. Ask the Pro :)

I just took a look at the sharkskinz website.

If you take a look at the pic of the noise/headlight fairing on their website, it looks like the cutouts for the rear view mirrors is not present. And it looks as if the headlight area has been blocked off (for track purposes, I assume).

Correct me if I'm wrong?

Yeah if it is a street bike stick to DP.

Check this thread out.

I have the Ducati Performance kit. Great stuff, perfect fit. Can run the road gear too.

Thanks for the responses....looks like the DP body kit is the way to go for me...

It looks like the DP body kit comes with left (upper and lower), right (upper and lower), and nose/headlight fairing. But no tail section...

Is this correct?

And another question...with the proper tools, how easy/difficult is it to swap out the entire set of body work? How long does it take?

You are correct, there is a rear kit also.
I have it down to about an hour for the complete change out from road to track.
First time will take you longer, tips and tricks you will learn as you do it will make it quicker. The big one is put some grease on the front cowling locating grommet. Makes life so much easier.
Second, don't forget the air sensor, you need it.
Third, disconnect the wire for the lights, that way you won't get any errors.
Have fun at the track!

To prescribe a brand, I would recommend a DUCATI with a red shading fairing pack for your motorcycle. You ride generally in the city on the street. I think it has the capacity keep both on the motorcycle with these arrangements of bodywork. Take a look at the pic here
