Niceee - Ducati Scrambler 1st Ride!

Love the idea, love the execution, love the mod-friendly nature of the bike. Don't love the HP:LB ratio, though. For me it all comes down to the size of the grin on my face after a test ride and how much $$$ I'd estimate it'd take to turn it into my own personal Swiss Army Knife of a bike.

This bike should do well, my old Triumph's with the K86's were the most fun all around, from fire roading, to canyon scratching. Now all the bikes are too specilized . The dirt bikes and dual purpose bikes have you a mile off the ground, modern road bikes are not dirt friendly. Some one at Ducati had their thinking cap on, I like the Pirelli quasi flat track tyres too. I think I want one.

My dealer contacted me the scrambler is in but here in England the weather turned. Had to abandon planned ride last Wednesday. Going for this Tuesday

Well folks finally got to ride it!
Verdict

comfortable, agile, light as a feather, suspension adequate, pretty, good lightweight , midrange all rounder and good value for money. Enough power when over taking generated lots of interest, head turner!

Negative not much, side stand a pain to get a hold on, seat a tad too short for 2 up, the Grandson complained he was near the very edge!

A must have accessory for the Duchess
Have said yes to this demonstrator normally 3 months but Ducati wanting 6 months keep for the dealers now. Suits me more time to save!!

great bike, comfortable, light weight midrange all rounder. Adequate suspension, pretty, nice chunky tyres, rides very easy holds the road extremely well.value for money, made me feel 17 again!
Negatives..
the side stand is a pain to find
the seat is a tad too short for 2 up, my pillion was complaining they felt close to the edge

must have accessory for the Duchess, have put my name to this demo!

So you like it then :)

Guess you can keep going back for repeated, extended test rides ;)

Powerful marketing is generating some hype around what is essentially pretty basic and crap. Great job I must say!

500cc and 1200cc versions are on the way.

Mmm 1200 sounds interesting

It does, but for me it goes slightly against the fun, accessible riding experience offered by these first Scrambler models.

Its clear Ducati will make a range of bikes and will position and market the hell out of them all, so once a rider buys into the concept, then there will be options for them at all levels.

May even give R9T buyers something to consider with its retro look and big air-cooled experience.

I really like the enduro scrambler with spoke wheels.

Personally, I am considering getting enduro version along with new super bike platform in 2016. I will keep all my existing bikes.
