Many of you may know me from Ducati.ms if you do - sorry, and if you don't well, sorry for that too ;)

Not sure yet whether I will be getting the 1199 but I'm leaning towards that.
I hope to learn as much as I can about the bike.

Yes, indeed... I think everyone is soaking up as much info and knowledge about the 1199 until Ducati starts shipping these to dealers next March.

What motorcycle(s) are you currently riding?
 
I recently sold an MV agausta B4 1078RR and my 1098 Tricolore.

I've been riding the 1078 on the track this year and I think it's time for an SBK for the track.
Right now I'm riding a Streetfighter S and my everyday bike is a Multistrada1200

The project on the lift is a 65 Norton.

I know the Streetfighter is not the most popular Ducati but it's an angry beast to ride!
Power, speed, agility, and comfort all in one package. I love it. ;)

I did decide on an 1199 tricolore and I will be keeping the Streetfighter and the Multi.

I suppose the 848 Streetfighter has it's place. I would not be interested in one for a couple of reasons.

I've been riding the bigger bikes for many years now and the mid size bikes just don't excite me after riding something with real power.
And, at our altitude an 848 is pretty dull. It seems to me that this is redundant with the 1100 Monster, but maybe some people prefer the styling?

I think they made some good changes with the 848 to fit it's target demographic. For instance taller bars are better suited to a bike that is not meant to be as performance oriented as the 1098 SF and I believe this bike will have an 11degree cam overlap (MTS) version of the 848 engine - so it will be toned down a bit from the 848SBK - another good step for the 848SF as opposed to those who want all the power and performance of the 1098SF.

I would just bet that the use of this engine in this bike is a test run for a new 848 11 degree Multistrada
