300 miles on the clock, and down she goes...
Well I wasn't there when it happened, and hence I need some investigative help. I show up to my father's house, where the bikes are kept. He already had the bike out of the garage waiting for me and he informed me there are scratches on the bike. He is adamant that he didn't drop the bike. I'm already super suspicious, but he does take the bike out for me often so that was not out of the ordinary. He has been in Europe for the past 3 weeks and I was the last one to ride the bike. I had a side convo with his wife and she supported his story that he has not ridden the bike since before they went to Spain.
I used the bike while they were in Spain and did not drop the bike, nor did I notice any scuffs on the bike, and I notice everything. There are a ton of people at his house regularly, but it is almost impossible that anyone would have dropped it, because my GSX-R is parked to the Duke's right side, and if the Duke fell, it would have fallen into the GSX-R, which did not happen.
I am suspicious because it seems as though steering MUST have been unlocked when the incident occurred and the steering is always locked otherwise, which leads me to believe it happened on his watch (no one has access to the keys other than us two). I really couldn't care less about it, but not knowing what happened is driving me crazy! I asked him 4 times and kept saying, "I didn't do it, if I did I would tell you. I am going to be the one paying to fix it, so why wouldn't I tell you!?"
The more I write this out and start thinking about it, the more I think my pops isn't telling the truth. Is it possible that the marks on the front brake lever and bar end occurred with the steering in the full lock left position?
The bike definitely was not moving when it occurred, and it appears whomever lost their balance/footing did all they could to save it. There are only a few marks on the bike, and the few scratches on the bike are all vertical, indicative of the fact that the bike did not slide.
