In need of help

I recently purchased a used 1199s Ohlins electric shock for my base 1299

I have read a few threads where this could be changed over to a manual fairly easy.. I gave the shock to my local ohlins dealer and after his conversation with ohlins they replied with this can't be done, nor has it ever been done..

So Im a bit lost, can anyone point me in the right direction. Part numbers needed? Or is this just a lost cause.

Thanks

We can do it also, I just had an electronic Ohlins from a Multistrada 1200S convered to manual adjusters to put on my non-S Multistrada and we've done dozens of 1199S/1299S conversions to manual adjusters.

Can the warning light for the DES be turned off? I swapped in a manual steering damper and the light is annoying. I'm assuming if I convert to manual shock and forks I will have the same issue?

The BBS and the harness are different for the base and S 1299. The base harness does not have the harness looms for the E forks, E rear shock or ESD. Best way to get rid of a 1299S is to buy a 1299 base harness and a 1299 base BBS. That however is not the most economic choice. When you remove anything from the electronic related package you will get a fault. Simply put the system does not see the component there during the POST and goes into error so just like all of the block off plugs (kick stand, pair, servo etc) you will need to put a dummy load on that circuit. Measure the resistance on the SD and find an appropriate resistance load, make a plug for the harness and you should clear your issue. Same scenario for the forks and shock. I don't know if you can just plug a 1299 base BBS into a 1299S harness. I would have to look at the pinouts for both systems.

Disclaimer: I offer precision guess work, based on unreliable data, provided by those of questionable knowledge.

What do you charge to do the entire set-up.. Front/Rear and Steering?
