To those that do their oil changes, what do you do about the count down until next oil change ?

I think you're the first person that's ever refereed to it as a "count down timer".

IIRC, you can reset it through Tuneboy and like systems, but all are expensive.

A better idea is to maybe work it out with your dealer so if you bought the filter and stuff through them, they would reset the light.

Some forum members have written that their dealer charged them a nominal fee to reset it.

i reset it my self :D

tuneboy allows that ;)

post-it's work well too

I'm hoping tuneboy has one of their semi-annual sales soon so I can pick one up. The cruise control itself would be invaluable.

BP, Thanks for the info, on my bike it's not just a light, every time I turn on the ignition key a pop up appears showing how many miles left for the next recommended oil change.

It starts at 7,500 miles and counts down to O.

You could always use the old fashioned method...and remember when you need an oil change.... :)

Besides the oil change, what else does the 7500 mile service consist of? I saw the list but its pretty much a 3 hour inspection. Would it void the warranty if you bring it to the shop and tell them to turn off the service light?

Along with the oil and filter change the bike gets plugged in to checked all systems with the bike running, I was invited into the service area to watch what actually gets done.

BTW, I don't need the counter to tell me when it's time for an oil change, after the initial change at 600miles I had it changed at 4,641 miles, just hate not being able to reset it myself once I start doing it.

I do this....but I know what you mean, what Stw said should be pointed a the manufacture...don't put it in the software, let the owner figure it out:mad:

My Dealer is 30 miles from where I live, real pain having to go there just to reset it !
