Old 1098/1198 rear wheel mounts up on the V4?

I believe the answer is yes, but wanted to confirm. Does any "big hub" rear wheel from the 1098/1198 days bolt straight up to the V4 without any spacers etc.? Want to pickup a spare rear to have a different compound tire on hand and OE forged wheels from old bikes are a dime a dozen. Thanks.

The older wheels are much heavier. 1199/1299 do fit.

The rear fits, no problem. Like RickD996 says , there just heavier.

Interesting. The old forged wheels are heavier than newer forged wheels??

A cursory search says forged rears from the 1198 era is a little over 8 lbs which is almost the same as the V4 forged rear?

1098 fits. I have one.
Much lighter than my base wheel obviously.

There are so many wheel weight threads with conflicting info,that I would not rely on them. Forged Marchesinis from different eras wont be too much different in weight.

Yes, I found a 1098 Marchesini on Ebay and fits 21 V4 fine. All the big axle rears from 1098 on up fit fine. Quite a few 1098/1198 wheels out there. Might not look the best but for track work who cares? Unless your track has a Starbucks onsite!!!

Looks lovely. Is the front wheel also from the 1098 era, and do you run spacers on the brake discs to suit the wider track? Thanks

Gents, the Monster 1200 rear wheel is also a big hub wheel and so should mount up to the V4 correct??

The answer to this question is yes. Monster 1200Rs come with forged marchesinis that bolt right up to the V4 and can be had for $500ish on ebay. Mounted up an SC1 for hot laps on the spare wheel.

It is a tad heavier than the same spec forged marchesini that came on the V4S (which must mean Ducati holds their really good .... for the V4S!)

Please ignore the ghetto white sox and max2h tire machine is the bomb!!
