I haven't seen anyone here mention this tail tidy kit, and the only video on youtube was a very short clip from their own company. I was ready to buy the motobox kit, but didn't like the price so much when I accidentally came across this Olson Performance.

I really liked the way it looked and the unique blinker design, plus the price at $210 was pretty good. So I figured I'd give it a try and give it a review.

First of all, shipping was decent. Pretty standard 1 week wait. Ordered late Thursday night, received the next Thursday. Packaging was good, each piece was individually wrapped in bubble wrap.

First thing I noticed when opening the box, is that there were no instructions. Just a box of parts and a receipt. They weren't really necessary anyways, but it would've been nice to have especially for wire routing.

Installation was pretty straight forward, and (almost) everything fit as it should without modification. The only thing that wasn't right is the mount for the license plate light is too close to the tail of the bike, leaving no room for the light itself. Solution... Zip ties. Or don't even install the light. I figure the less reason to be pulled over the better, so zip tied it was.

Overall for the price, fit/finish, and looks, I think it is a good value. The blinker LEDs are really bright and will be easily visible during the day. One concern I do have though is how long it will last with it being so close to the exhaust. I guess I'll find out.

Some pics!

MUCH better than stock!

What am I missing, where's the blinkers?

To the left and right of the license plate.

I just saw this the other day and considering ordering just the blinkers, but I was worried that it might look too bulky. I think I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger now. Thanks for the post!

At the risk of jinxing myself, I haven't had any issues with the OE carbon hugger. If I ever hit the dyno I'll remove it.

Plastics behind the plate or any rubber will melt. I know this because it has happened to me. :D

Yep the plastic plate frame and screws from the dealer melted with my NRC kit. Red reflector screws are holding up.

This.

After my third rear carbon hugger I'm about to go back to OEM.

With 1200 miles including 90+ degree stop and go, haven't had a hint of melting on the oem carbon hugger. As for the fender kit, everything is metal except the led blinker housings and wires. Hopefully I'll be getting the bike out of the house and back on the road soon to be able to find out.

From a distance it doesn't look bad but up close I'm not a fan due to exposed wires running around with zip ties trying to clean them up. Not a clean look and I just don't feel it matches the quality of the bike.

I'm guessing the difference is that I'm running the full Akra and live in TX. One hugger didn't even make it through a dyno run without discoloration.
