Hi All,

I recently installed the Ducati oversized windscreen. PSA, the 2020 version is different than the 18-19s

I have a question for those who have installed these. it comes with a rubber trim piece.

it fits on there pretty lightly. it seems unlikely that it would stay on for very long.

has anyone glued this on? if so, what kind of adhesive?

I would take it off, chances are it will decide to remove itself (which I have had experience of)

had same question a while ago when installing the smoked version of same high bubble on mine. Indeed rubber trim blows off if not fixed properly.

I clued trim down at only 5 points instead of all-around: both ends, both bends and dead centre with ordinary CA-based superglue which is also rubber friendly.

Be sure to:
- cut trim at correct length
- determine exact end positions of trim
- apply small amounts of CA on edge of screen (not inside of trim; starting with measured deadcentre part of trim first)
- work from centre to both ends one by one by quickly putting trim in place after applying SMALL amounts of CA inch by inch on edge only.

So inch of glue, slide trim over this part, apply few seconds pressure, next inch of glue etc. till both ends.

Else CA is easily smutched or even runs onto windscreen where you will see it and can’t remove it w.o. scratching/marking it visibly.

thanks. i'm going to try to mount mine with silicon adhesive. i should be able to peel it off if it doesn't work or if i screw it up.

My almost flew off from my last cruise on the freeway

I came back and bought loctite for rubber and put glue on right away

Mine on the FE never came off and ive had it at almost 160 MPH on track.

thanks for all of the replies. i could go with our without it, but i kind of like the way the trim looks installed.

Was yours an add on or came with it on your purchase?

Mine came with the rubber trim piece. Perfect length. Didn't need to cut it. I mounted it with silicon adhesive but haven't ridden yet. Will report back with tales of success or soul crushing failure

I was trying to find out if you got it when it came with the bike wit 1200rse, as you and I bought the screen ladder.

i attached mine with silicon adhesive. i applied the silicon on the top edge of the screen. easier than trying to get it in the trim piece

let it dry for a day or so (pandemic days blur together).

i rode a good bit today. it seems to be staying on fine.

Just picked up a new V4R windscreen from the dealer and it came with the rubber trim already attached. We'll see if it eventually comes peeling off at speed..

Interesting that already installed!!!???

I glued mine, so I don’t want to fly off

Did I mentioned these OEM taller screen are so easy to scratch? !?!?

trim is still holding strong with the silicone. i had some smudges from the install. a little alcohol cleaned it right up. i think this is the way to go. I was indifferent before. now i like the trim on there. looks kewl ;)

I got mine today but missing the black rubber trim. Can it be purchased at the dealership as a replacement?
