Panigale 959/1299 us-drypack fit kit

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I've been using the Kreiga kit on the 1199/1299 for the last 5 years. I made my own straps for the 1299, the front ones mount in the same place, the rear ones are permanently fixed to the main rear bolt which I think is more secure.

The drypack (if full) sits well clear of the fairing across the seat so once on no problem with scratching. The straps pull around the seat itself rather than against the bodywork. The paintwork does scratch easily though so probably more likely to damage it when fitting the pack, I put a strip of red duck tape down each side as a precaution.

I ordered this from Revzilla a month or two ago but they're still waiting for the parts from Kriega, so it seems it's not yet available in the US. I can update once I finally receive it though.

That being said, the kit is slightly different between the 1199 and 1299. The 1199 kit can be made to fit the 1299 but it's not a perfect fit. Regardless of the kit though, SPJ is right in that the paint scratches easily in general so I'd be careful as to how you mount anything back there.

Thanks for info.
I was informed that kit for 1299s should be available in Poland next week. Hopefully it will arrive.

Does anyone use new Kriega kit for 1299 with US20 bag?
I read on Ducati UK forum that the kit is not as good as suppose to be. Can anyone confirm?

I made my own b/c a 1299 kit was not available when I fitted my bags.

Overall I think my design is more secure b/c everything attaches to hard parts. The challenge w/ the US 20 is the rear mount points aren't that far back so to keep it from slipping forward I do a loop w/ a figure 8 strap around the tail tidy.

The bag can touch the fairing pieces, so I'd recommend putting some 3M film or similar on the top. I cut a piece and it is virtually invisible. Overall very happy w/ the solution. I should note that I run my bag long way sideways, not how the Kreiga site shows it (long way front to back). The US 20 will hit your back mounted the way its shown and that drives me nuts. It's even a problem on the US10....that's why the film is so important to me.

Paint protection film on anything that rubs, that's how its done. Even more important tho, make sure your attached items are firmly secured and does not obstruct controls, movement, or view while on the bike! Ride safe!
