Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I came across this while looking for some stuff over the internet - I thought it is the Superleggera being tested before its launch but the article (orignally in Polish) mentions it as a RS variant.

Translation below via google translate:

DUCATI PANIGALE PREPARING NEW? SPY PHOTOS
On the pages of Road & Track portal appeared spy photos of the bike, which is probably a new variant of the Ducati Panigale.
The thing that most conspicuous fairings are made of carbon fiber. So far, they have been reserved for the Panigale RS13-only track and costing more than 130,000 euros. Another change is the replacement of Ohlins fork Marzocchi NIX30 cheaper. Cheaper does not necessarily mean worse, because the solution Marzocchi company also has a full adjustment. Spanish and American sources speculate that the model could be an indication of RS. A more courageous say also created a prototype of a new framework for the Panigale. Which of these information to confirm? Is the fair EICMA see new Panigale? We'll find out soon.

Close.

If Ducati do well in WSBK then you can pretty much expect a final edition of the Panigale which will be a WSBK edition. The next Ducati SuperBike is due 2016.

Caveat : This is a personal opinion and is not supported by any fact, suggestion or insider knowledge from Ducati NA.

This is old news from last year, long before EICMA 2013. In the original text the author (who I know quite well) is basing on an article from another magazine. The bike in the picture is the SL (Akrap, O.Z., black coated ohlins, etc)
