Hi everyone

My name is Tim and I'm from Belgium in Europe. I've been riding the Panigale for about 900km now ( about 500 miles ) and I'm really loving it!
Hope to learn some good stuff on this forum.

Kind regards.

Hi, I'm from around Leuven. Bought the Panigale at Ducati Zolder.
Where did you buy yours?

( Zo verstaan ze het allemaal ;) :D )

I'm from Antwerp...
I bought her in Ducati Gent, because Ducati Antwerp is broke...

Is she allready restricted, because our bikes are from France and there they only got 106pk?

Cool, I used to race around the harbor in Antwerp on my Triumph Street Triple :D. Things got a bit dangerous these last years imo. To much dirt, trucks,...

Anyways, yes! Mine is still restricted unfortunately :(. I'm hoping for some better weather in the next few days so I can do some miles and unrestrict it!

Welcome! Great ride!

I'm not Belgian, I'm Dutch but I have a younger brother who studies near you, at Hasselt, lives in Leuven. I stayed in Diest last summer and passed by Ducati Zolder and met Johan Heeremans. Nice guy and helped me out with a bunch of parts and some Duc leathers. Was very helpful to me.

I haven't ridden in Belgium how is it? The roads are great it would seem to me, but the speed limits and their enforcement look like it would be hard to have "fun"?

Thanks Delta one!

In general the roads in Belgium aren't that good. They are ok, but compared to say Germany, we really are set back. In many places Germany has immaculate asphalt.

Belgium is devided in 2 parts. A Flemish region and a French. Many bikers ride in the French part called " De Ardennen ". You may now this of the famous " Battle of the Bulge " or the Ardennes offensive in the war. In the Ardennes you can have great fun. The speed limit is only really enforced to you in the towns ( speed camera's, etc... ). Outside you can have fun without always having to look over your shoulder for police,...

In the Flemish region you can have fun as well but there are fewer places with consecutive miles of corners :D and more police control, speed camera's,...

I'm lucky to live 5 minutes away of the racetrack ( Zolder ) so I can visit it frequently ;).

Thanks for the update!

Would love to ride in Belgium. Point taken about the roads, but still looked good to me ;-)

I know a bit about Belgium, as I mentioned I stayed in Diest , which is where we have a family house for last few years. I also have an uncle that has been living in Beerse for over 20 years, and we had a holiday home there in the 80-90's. So familiar with the Flemish side of Belgium.

Went to the Ardennes in the late 80's for an adventure week, paintball, mountain climbing, rafting, abseiling etc. Great fun, but don't remember the roads except for that there were quite a lot of mountains.

I spoke to Johan H from Duc Zolder about riding there also, he said the ZOlder Circuit was designed for cars and wasn't that much fun for bikes, but if I gave him notice he could arrange a ride @ Zolder the next time I came to Belgium. So next time I go I'll let you know and maybe we can meet up at the circuit?

He also gave me a Ducati Zolder "Team 848" shirt, they have been doing quite well. I'm still supposed to send him a picture of me wearing the shirt standing next to a camel LOL!!

LOL :D. He's a good guy. Always in for a laugh!

Sure , just send me a pm when you come overhere and we can meet up. I know Diest very well. Me and the misses go there for a drink often.

Do you currently stay in the middle-east, or am I mistaken? How do you bring you transport your bike to Belgium?

Yes, been living here, in the Middle East, for many years.

Too much work and money to bring the bike to Belgium ! No I would rent one there. When I spoke to JH he said he could arrange next time with some notice.

Will be awhile, as we are expecting another baby in August, so unlikely to go anywhere this year :-( But I'll pm you if I do!

I'm sure he could arrange a nice bike for you :).
Congrats on the baby you are having!
