Has your bike stopped smoking BlueBear? You have a 2013 correct? Is it all 2013's or just 2013's built later on...I purchased my bike a month ago but it was built much earlier this year, bike number 10640.

mine never smoked.

i believe its early models that smoke.
also spoke to ducati dealer that even say 2013 rings are bigger.

my model is jan 2013.

No smoke! Nice...mine smokes on start up but usually A-Ok once warmed up. Then again I very few km's so i expect some smoke. Is your build number less or more then mine? 10640 is my build.

10627. What oil you using and how did you run yours in?
Soft or hard? I already did 4000 never a puff.

I have a 2012 picked it up in May 2012, smoke about 3 times total in the first 1000miles, I ran it in hard and absolutely no smoking . I currently have 3700 miles on her.

I have a 2013 R.... mine smoked a bit for the first 200 or 300 kms.

Now seems fine.

I'm yet to finish the run in so I'm not concerned at the moment, oil is stock.

I was more so trying to establish if my bike would of been one with bigger rings, sounds like you have the bigger rings so mine will then.

Easy run in for first 100-200kms and then hard running. I believe in the harder run in approach. It's always worked well for me. My smoke is only on warm up and when starting from warm, after that its fine.

-- i think the smoke-ups are due to an overfilled crankcase - i'd check oil level cold (as per the manual) and set it at the middle window (between the upper and lower lines) and see how it goes

My 2013 Panigale R smokes like a Liga Privada cigar. Only 201mi, but it has burned enough oil that I needed to top it up after it fell below the low line when hot and cold. Other than that the bike is flawless.

mine burned 2 litres of oil in first 3000 miles, now at 5500 miles, and it hasn't burned a drop in the last 2500 miles. 2013 model

Make sure you sit on your bike facing forward when you start the engine. Haven't seen smoke since I started doing that.;)

Reporting in at 700mi - zero oil burn after the initial issue. Before and after first service.
