Or wait for the next R revision. The 2025 Pani changes are truly significant and from various comments it seems like they finally got the ergo's right. They revised the cooling system completely which should make them easier to live with. New oil pump. And the auto back it in software. The 1103's motors will have a significantly longer service life due to 3 ring pistons, less radical cams and lower redline.

Not sure V4R comes to 2025 base, if they work now on lower cc model for future.

That's a tough choice. The V4R is very special with the rev happy engine, less torque hit and lighter/agile feeling due to 1000 vs 1100cc. The 25 V4S has more advanced electronics and claimed to be easier to ride than the last version. My answer would be, if you're a track only guy, buy the V4R. If you are going to ride it on the street also buy the V4S.

Ducati say's the 25 V4S is only 1 second faster , in pro or amateur hands, than the 24 V4S. The R is at least 2.5 seconds faster than the 24.

This is a V4R versus a base V4.

Marketing is what you're leaning on as a source?

Your 2.5 second nonsense is pure hyperbole. If you want to fanboy over the V4R, knock yourself out, but don't be delusional.

I saw the new V4SF specs for the first time. They claim the chassis is now identical to the 25 Pani, hollow front subframe, swingarm and all. Motor now comes with motorized stacks. They pulled the bars back 10 mm. So if true the same spec as the Pani now except that stupid gearbox and final gearing is the same as before. If they had any sense they'd use 1st thru 4th form the current Pani and 5th and 6th from the multistrada V4 gearbox IMHO. They have put scoops on to channel hot air away from your junk (wonder if that works but what about when you're stopped at 90F). But a far better motorcycle than the first iteration. The motor got a kg lighter wonder where that came from as the bike itself got heavier in spite of the loss of the SSSA.

I have actually just bought a 2023 V4r with 1 mile on it so I hope that answers your question. I have had V4s's and the V4r is so much more.
And as for them being as fast as each other and all that crap.... I'm a 54 year old pretty quick rider and I'll never be able to push either of them to the limit BUT........ I have a V4R!!! 😀 😀 :)

Interesting convo.
People who don’t have an R or have not ridden the R have no idea. You may run the exact same times on a lap on either bike however that screaming R engine makes you feel special when you get of it.

However, if it’s for the road I would simply not have an R as it’s pathetic and doesn’t make sense and I would have an S with electronic suspension all day.

Your call and go with you heart but for me and track it’s the R all day, plus hey you know, it’s an R model 😀

I'm sorry but electronic suspension is a load of crap. I turned mine off on my V4s as I had it set up by a professional Ohlins dealership as how on earth can an electronic suspension be aware and supposedly react to the road when it doesn't know what's coming? Get the suspension set up by an expert and your bike will handle like you never knew it could. Honestly I swear by it. As for riding my V4r on the road, its only done 1 mile so I'll let you know what its like after I have had it professionally set up for my weight and let you know but I'm pretty sure it'll be the absolute dog's boll*cks!!
