Hi All,

I have a new V4s (2020), i had this behaviour for the 4th time now: sometimes i have to drive through the city, it means a lot of times stop and go...so far so good. It happened after a stop-go, the bike has started to feel like i would drive with 4th gear with 10km/h so stuttering, it felt like it would die, i had to pull the clutch and shut down the bike or sometimes it is stalling by itself, what i observed was, this was almost happening before (like 2-3km before) the fuel light comes on, well this can be a coincidence but this happened. After i fill the tank again, it is not happening, did someone else have this issue with the new v4s?

I have noticed similar stuttering during trackdays when the fuel is low and the fuel light comes on. The tank still has fuel for maybe 50 kilometers, but engine is stuttery. It goes away with filling the tank. If I recall correctly the weather was warm on those trackdays when this happened. My bike is 2019 V4 base.

With very little riding happening due to virus lockdown you may not get much feedback so I'll throw this in. I have a 2020, no issues but only 100 kms so haven't emptied a tank yet, and will watch this thread over coming months. But I'm sure others have reported identical experiences with 2018/19. (There have been multiple fuel tank issues and afaik Ducati have never announced any changes in response.) I have wondered if a vacuum is created as the fuel level lowers? Easy to check - you would experience inrush of air when you open the cap. Hot day would exacerbate it if you rode into the shade or as the day cooled. Just a thought.

Also riding slowly would heat the tank creating same conditions as a hot day.

I have full Akra exhaust and Akra tune. Bike stalls occasionally. My experience is it happens at all different temperatures, and fuel levels. Most of the stalls happen when chopping the gas real quick and not downshifting.

I don't own a v4 but ive owned 3 Ducati 's so far and they all had stalling issues when new. Imho Ducs need a long time to really break in, a lot of the stalling issues will go away when they get some miles on them. My 1199 used to stall as well but now I have almost 9k miles and I cant remember the last time it happened.

Reassuring, my V4S stalled cruising up to stop lights on 3 occasions during the first 600 miles.

I drived now 2 times so far no stalling and in 2 weeks i have the first service, i already informed the dealership about that, let see what they say, i LOVE the bike but this stalling issue making me headache :(

I still dont have the issue, 1000km service done last week...but here another v4s owner with same issues >

I have ridden my v4 for 950 miles already and have not had any issues. *Knock on wood* I have a 2020 v4.
Damn, ur ahead of me. I have to be over 200 miles now. Gonna get that first service done in no time.
we might be battling it out for highest mileage 2020 model.
holy crap this thing is a monster but sooo refined

You are lucky to know how a good V4 rides or u might have been one poor sucker with a “lemon” and not even know it
My 2020 pulls hard on supercharged H2s

r u really in Switzerland? I’d expect the Ducati collection to be secondary to your watch or timepiece collections

I actually havent done the first service yet due to online classes and work! :eek:Dealer told me it will be okay to continue riding, but just make sure nothings falling off the bike! I have an appointment Saturday to get it done.

And Goodluck catching up, this is my daily. I average 21k miles a year.;)

Cool! Let us know how the first service goes. I’m trying to throw parts at the bike like the clear clutch when it goes in for the first service.

I’m glad the warranty is unlimited mileage.
what mode do u ride in and where do u set DTC and DWC?

Sure thing! I switch modes race is for the freeway, then when im just cruising I put it in street for less aggressive throttle response. DTC I have 3 or 4 across all modes, I dont know what it is but the DWC is really good at preventing the wheel from coming up even at setting 1. So I have it turned off on race and sport for some fun times.
