Does anyone know what parts will be shared between the 899 and the 959. Or from the 11/1299 and the 959?

I know it will be a while before vendors have specific parts that are labeled for the 959. But if somebody was to get a 959 and wanted to race prep it, would things like exhaust, levers, rearsets, bodywork, sprockets, etc etc from the 899 or 11/1299 work?

I could be wrong but basic things like levers ,rearsets clip ons and stuff will be the same.
As for bodywork i would think all the track fairings would fit since they use the same basic mounting points . OEM959/1299 to OEM 899/1199 fairings may be more involved.
Exhaust if you use the full system it should be fine but not slips ons as the new 959/1299 has a different union at the bottom where the cans go.

I have one sitting about 3 feet from me right now, looks like the swingarm pivot design is from the 1299 so the original style Woodcraft rearsets won't fit on the left side unless you grind out part of the braket. The 1299 Woodcraft rearsets should bolt up. I checked the parts diagram on the exhaust, the front cylinder head pipe is shared with the 1299 but the rear cylinder head pipe is unique to the 959, so can't say for sure on exhaust compatability yet. Levers should be the same, and I'm sure race bodywork can be made to work but the upper fairing stay is slightly different due to the 1299-style mirrors so the holes might not line up perfectly.

Also, the body work from the 1199/899 will not work with the 1299/959/ The upper fairing and mid are wider. Unless you swap the fairing stay.

Thanks guys.

So basically the 959 will share bodywork/etc with the 1299 (like the 899 did with the 1199) correct?

I am going to get another Duc to be a backup bike. I just cant decide if I want to get another 1299S, or if I want something different.

After reading some reviews I'm liking the 959 more as well. That or the MV Agusta F3 800. Leaning towards the 959 though. Akra, lithium batter, Carrozzeria forged wheels, race bodywork, maybe lightweight fly wheel with 1299 magnesium clutch covers, and motoholders rear subframe and you are done. Weight shaved and handle improved even more.

Looks like the 1299 bodywork should work on 959's. At least the tail section seems the same, since 959's have the same rear fenders as the 1299.

how about the subframes? from 899- 1199 compared to 959 - 1299?

I see some fender eliminators that say that it will fit 1199 and 1299... and some say no?

so which is it... LOL

For anyone looking for answers, apparently the side fairings have different bolt locations. Unsure about the rest.
